teyana's morning started with a fresh, hot cup of coffee and the wrath of her wife's lingering attitude.
her wife's motions were cautious around the kitchen and she kept her eyes on one of teyana's favorite cookbooks, attempting to make something new... all by herself.
she watched as she would sometimes add too much or too little, eyeballing the measurements and teyana took another chance to offer her assistance.
"you sure you don't want any help, baby?"
lori softly shook her head, her index finger skimming over the instructions while her free hand gripped her waist.
teyana placed the black coffee mug down on the counter, finally choosing to lift from her seat and trudge around the island to assist lori.
she lifted the bowl of thick chocolate filling and tasted it, humming with a shake of her head, "this isn't right, angel."
"how are you gonna tell me-"
"it's not right and i'm telling you that right now. you're wasting ingredients when you have a wife right here that can do this easily," teyana furrowed her eyebrows, placing the bowl back down.
"i asked if you could help me before i even started this," lori's face was tightly pulled into a mug and she quickly slammed the red mixing spatula onto the counter before turning to walk away.
she was fast, but teyana was faster and tightly gripped her arm.
"chill out," the taller girl muttered, "come here 'fore i yank you."
teyana's accent unpleasantly hardened and she watched lori's body tense before she slowly turned with a slight pout.
"you don't have to be rude."
"and you don't have to have an attitude," teyana mumbled and loosened the grip on lori's arm, brushing her thumb across the lightly bruising skin.
teyana pulled lori's arm, drawing her closer to her body, "i thought i told you to come here."
"you did," lori confirms.
with a sigh, teyana lightly shoved lori to the side, grabbed the cream that sat on the counter, and crouched to take a pot from the cabinets.
she could feel lori's eyes on her and pushed down the smug smirk that threatened to show itself, pouring the heavy cream into the pot before turning on the stove's electric burner.
