to put too much time into thinking about or analyzing (something) in a way that is more harmful than helpful.

the darkness cascaded across their room with slight light coming from the cracked curtains.
lori leaned against the doorway of their room with a wine glass nearly filled to the brim, her mouth taking sips each time she remembered she had the glass in hand.
teyana was laying in bed with her toned arms wrapped around lori's pillow and her face smushed into it.
the woman couldn't decipher why she felt so unsettled with the future now. but, she was sure that the bad of it was going to come from teyana and she was trying not to face it.
her head shook as she pulled the corner of her lip in between her teeth and she slid the top of her foot against her calf.
"fuck," she dropped her hand and uncomfortably clutched her stomach.
that same weird feeling from years ago, erupted in her stomach again once she thought about the way teyana tried her best to avoid those questions a couple of hours ago.

teyana held herself up, forearms digging into the mattress with her eyes trained and focused on the beautiful sight that always pleased her.
lori slowly rode, circling her hips as she watched teyana's head lull and drop between her shoulders, her brown eyes rolling with her movements.
"answer me, gorgeous," lori huskily demanded and pushed her palms into the bed, slightly picking up the pace of her hips.
her ears picked up on the shaky scoff that flew from teyana's mouth before she gripped the sheets in her hands.
a gasp slipped from her throat as her face pleasingly twisted at the feeling of teyana's hips rising, pushing her length deeper inside her slick walls.
she held her body up on those shaky arms, holding back cries from the feeling of teyana's engorged tip tapping at her spot with each thrust.
"mon amour," lori dragged out.
(my love.)
teyana lifted her head, holding back the gasps that threatened to slip, and pulled lori's chest down to meet hers.
