"Delta! Come help me with these boxes!" My mom yells.
I make my way over to her in a hurry and grab a random box. "That goes to the kitchen." She says. I walk up the stairs to our two story, brand new house. I walk over the threshold of the door and make my way over to the kitchen. I set the box down on one of the countertops.
I quickly go back outside and grab another box. I look down to see my name on the front. "You go ahead and pick your room. First or second floor, doesn't matter. I nod and go back into the house once again.
I rush up the stairs and down the hall into a random room. I look around it and I immediately decide that I want it. I set the box down on the floor of the empty room.
I look around a little and notice two doors beside the one leading to the hallway. I open one to reveal a bathroom.
Yes! It has a bathroom connected!
I close the door, now excited for the shower I would take in here tonight. I walk over to the other door. I open it to reveal a closet. A really big closet.
"Delta! I need a little help!" My mom calls. At hearing that, I rush down the stairs and into the livingroom area to her.
"What is it?" I ask.
"These boxes need to be moved." She says, as she struggles to lift them. "Okay." I say and grab one of the three. "That goes to my room. It's that one right over there." She says and points over to a room past the livingroom. I make my way over there and gently drop the box on the floor.
I look around for a moment before going back to the boxes. Mom nowhere in sight.
Must be getting stuff from the trailer.
I pick both the remaining boxes up, seeing as they both go to the same place, the remaining stuff to the kitchen. I set them down on the countertop by the other box.
I go outside to grab the rest of the boxes that go to my room. I pick three boxes up at once.
"Go ahead and make that your last trip. There are only a few more here. The furniture won't arrive until tomorrow and, you've got school tomorrow." Mom says. I nod before I go back up the little flight of steps and into the house, up the stairs and into my bedroom. I set the boxes down and start tearing the tape off one of them.
It has my clothes and hangers. I go ahead and start hanging all of it up in the closet. After I'm done with that, I open another box to reveal my books, that will have to stay in here until I get my bookshelf back.
I open the next box, it has all my posters and pictures and some of the awards that I got from drawing competitions. I draw a lot.
I'll leave everything in their boxes until I get my bed, desk and bookshelf tomorrow. Mom has someone coming to help her with getting everything here and into the house. She doesn't start her new job until Tuesday.
I, for some unknown reason, have to start school right off the bat. Tomorrow, Monday. I still don't see why I can't wait a day, but whatever. I walk over to a window, to see that I'm facing a patch of woods.
I'm definitely going out over there. Can't wait for that!
I walk downstairs to see my mom in the kitchen, moving some of the stuff in the boxes around.
"Do you want me to run out?" I ask. She turns to me. "Yes. Go pick up some kind of fast food. We'll cook when we have everything in order." She replies. I nod.
I grab the keys and go outside. The trailer has already been unattached. I unlock the doors to our grey jeep. It's meant to be a sort of joke. With our last name and all. Me, Delta Grey and my mom, Riley Grey.
I get into the drivers seat and I make sure to have my phone on with direction to get back here, since quite frankly, I have no frickin' clue how to get back here on my own. I pull out of our driveway and start on the road. It takes a while just to find where all the stores and restaurants are. I drive a little to come to a stop at this cute little 70's style dinner called Jill's and Fran's.
I park the car in the parking lot and hop out. I walk into the little place to be greeted by an older women. "Hi there!" She says but then stops. "Are you new here sweetie?" She asks. "Uh—y-yes ma'am. My names Delta Grey. Me and my mom just m-moved in today." I reply with a small smile.
"It's so nice to meet you! My names Fran, one of the owners here. Welcome to this little town of ours! Anyway, will you be dinning in or taking it to go?" She asks. "To go please." I say. "Alright, what would you like?" She asks. I look over to a menu. "Um..I'll take a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a coke. And a..cheese burger, everything on it with fries and a root beer." I reply.
"Alrighty! Give us about 15 minutes to get that ready!" She says cheerfully. I nod handing her the money. "Thank you dear." She says as she grabs the $20 bucks. She comes back over after a second and hands me the change.
"You're welcome to take a seat while you wait." She says. "Alright. Thank you." I say. I walk over to a random booth and take a seat.
I pull out my phone and text my mom that I'll be home in about 30 minutes. She replies with an okay. I sit and just play games will I wait. "Here you are sweetheart!" Miss Fran says as she hands me the food. I stand up and with a thank you and have a nice day. I walk out.
Before I make it out of the door I bump into someone. I turn to meet the gaze of a 6'2, muscular, dark skinned, black haired and dark brown haired guy. Since I'm only 5'7, he towered over me.
"I'm sorry. I d-didn't see you." I say with a nervous smile. His eyes widen before they go back to his glare. "Whatever shorty." He says in a deep voice that had me jump slightly. I make my way around him and out the door.
But. I'm stopped again by another guy. He's about as tall as the other guy, also muscular, tan skin, brown hair and light brown eyes.
You've got to be kidding me!!! Why do I keep bumping into people!?
"A-ah—sorry." I squeak out. His eyes widen as well, before quickly going back to normal. "No problem." He says with a friendly smile. I walk around him again, avoiding two more guys, that both glance at me. One that's probably about 6'1, muscular, not like pale but light skinned, blonde hair and blue eyes. The other one, about 6'3, also muscular, Caucasian(light skinned), jet black hair and dark brown eyes.
Why the hell do they all look like that!? And why are they so damn tall!? What the hells going on!? Like I'm short and skinny, there's no muscle here! That's not fair!
I ignore my own thoughts and make my way to my car. I hop in and set the food beside me, in the passenger seat. I start the car and make my way down the road. I set the GPS up and follow it back to my house. Once I get there I pull into the driveway and park.
Before I get out, I grab the food and run inside with it. I go to the kitchen to see my mom. "Here's the food." I say. She turns and smiles. "Where'd you go to get it?" She asks. "A little dinner, called Jill's and Fran's." I reply. She nods.
I grab my own food out of the bag and hand her her's. We stand at the countertops and eat. Once I'm done I run up the stairs to take a shower. I close my door and run over to the bathroom. I walk in and close the door. I strip down to nothing and hop in the shower and start the water. I let the warm water run over my body as I stand under the shower head.
I wash my hair and body and then hop out. I dry off with a random towel and walk out of the bathroom with it tied around my waist. I walk over to my closet and grab some clothes and throw them on. Now wearing a dark blue hoodie and a pair of shorts.
I walk down stairs to grab my blankets and pillows from the livingroom. I look around, not seeing my mom. I walk around to finally get to her room, to see her asleep on her blankets on the floor. I smile turning off the light as I walk out.
I pick up my blankets and pillow and head back upstairs.
