I wake up to the alarm on my phone. I get up groggy and make my way over to my closet. I grab a pair of black ripped jeans, a white t-shirt and throw a red hoodie over it. I grab my shoes and throw those on too.
I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth and flatten my hair, to no avail. I have dirty blonde hair, so dark that it's almost considered brown. I have green eyes to match it, which is unusual all in itself.
I walk out of the bathroom and out of my room. I go down the stairs to see mom in the kitchen waiting. "Ready?" She asks. I nod. We get into the car and take off. After driving for about 15 minutes, we get to the school and she drops me off in the parking lot.
"Have a good day. See you after." She says before she leaves.
I take a deep breath and gulp.
Your okay. You can totally do this.. You just need to calm down and breath..
I start walking towards the school. I walk inside, having no idea where I'm supposed to go. Someone grabs my shoulder, which causes me to jump.
"Hey there. Sorry 'bout that.. You seem lost." A girl, as tall as me with red auburn hair, smiles at me when I turn to meet her gaze.
"U-um. Yeah. I-I'm new." I reply nervously, tripping over my words. She nods understanding. "Then you should probably head to the office. I'll bring you." She says.
"Okay..t-thank you." I stutter. I've always stuttered around new people. Thats just how my body reacts to it I guess.
We walk down a hallway, away from everyone else. We walk into an open, lobby-like area. An older, middle aged man sits at a wide desk.
"Excuse me, Mr. Jones. There's a new student here." She says. I never got her name.
"Oh?" He asks looking over at me. "Hi there. You are?" He asks. "U-uh..my names D-Delta Grey..sir." I say. He nods. "Well, I'm Mr. Kelly Jones. I'll get your schedule and you can get on your way!" He says cheerfully.
Everyone in this town seems so nice..well..except for that tall guy at the dinner yesterday. He was kind of scary over everything really..
I wait a minute for him to come back and hand me a piece of paper. "Thank y-you." I say. I look down at the paper to see my schedule. "You're welcome. And if you need help at any point. Come let me now and I'll do whatever I can." He says with a smile.
I nod returning the smile. Me and the red head walk out of the office and back down a hallway. "Let's see your schedule." She says. I hand it over to her. "Alright..well. We have second, third and fifth period together, along with lunch." She says reading over the paper. I nod.
"I have a friend that has the rest of the classes with you. I'll talk to her about helping you out." She says as she hands me the paper. "Thanks.." I trail off not knowing her name.
"Oh! Sorry. My names Lana Kate." She says. I nod, now knowing her name. "Delta Grey." I say. She smiles. "Let's go find your locker." She says. "Alright." I reply.
We head up a flight of stairs and down another hallway. We make it to a section of lockers. "Let's see..ah! Here it is." She say looking at a locker. "Your combination should be on that paper. And your first class is right there." She says, pointing to a classroom right next to us. I nod. "T-thank you—again." I say.
"No problem really. Anyway, I need to get going. My class is on the other side of the school." She says. "Alright. See you later." I say waving. She waves and smiles and then turns and walks away. I unlock my locker and throw all the books in. I look down at my schedule to see that my first class is English. I reach back into my locker and grab my notebook and pencil bag. Along with my stuff for the next four classes.
I close my locker just as the bell rings. I wait a second before walking into the classroom. "U-um..I'm a new student..?" I say to a women with long, curly black hair with glasses. "Oh! You must be Delta! I'm Mrs. Daniel. It's so nice to meet you." She says. "Y-you too." I say.
She smiles brightly. "Just wait right here. You can grab whatever seat when everyone else gets here." She says. I nod.
Right then, a herd of loud, talkative high school kids rush into the classroom. I step back a little, being overwhelmed from the sudden noise and people. After a minute, everyone sits in a seat.
"Alright everyone, quiet down." She says and they do so. "We have a new student today. This is Delta Grey." She says. Everyone turns to me. I nod. My anxiety kicks in and my hands start shaking slightly. "You can go find a seat dear." She says.
I look around before deciding on a seat in the very back, away from everyone else.
"Alright class. Pull out you notebooks and pencils. Today, we will be going over certain sentences having to do with 'correction to grammar'." She says. Everyone does as told, including myself.
She talks and I write down certain things I find important.
Class flys by. By the end of it, I actually understand it. Mrs. Daniel is really good at her job.
After thee bell rings, everyone bolts for the door. I stand up and sling my bag over my shoulder. I walk up to Mrs. Daniels desk. She turns to me.
"What can I do for you Delta?" She asks. "Um..w-well. I don't r-really know..w-where to go." I stutter out nervously. "Thats alright. What's you next class?" She asks. "Um..Mr. Foster..Math." I say looking down at my schedule.
"Oh that's not very far at all. Just walk down this same hall and take a right. He usually stands right outside his classroom. Really the only one that does it on that hallway." She says with a smile. "Thank y-you." I say and walk out, using her directions.
So nice.. Anyway, I need to take a right..
I bump into someone. "A-ah—sorry!" I say. I look up to see the guys from yesterday at the dinner. "Oh, its you again!" The one with tan skin, brown hair and light brown eyes said. He was the nice one that I bumped into.
"You bump into people a lot, huh shorty?" The scary one said. "S-sorry." I say looking down. I make my way around them and head down the hall until I see a short middle aged man with dark brown hair standing outside of his classroom.
I walk up to him. "U-uh..are you M-Mr. Foster?" I ask. "Thats right. You must be the new student?" He asks. I nod. "D-Delta Grey, sir." I say. "Right. Well welcome. Just find a random seat." He says I nod. I go to the back like in English and sit down. "Oh hey Delta." I hear a familiar voice. I turn to see Lana. "O-oh. Hi" I say with a smile.
"So, how was Mrs. Daniel's class?" She asks. "Good. She's nicer than I thought she'd be." I say. "Oh? Did she look scary?" She asks. I shake my head. "No, no. I-it's just that in my old town..p-people weren't usually this nice.." I say. "I see. Well, it really is quite a bit different here." She says with another smile. I nod.
"Alright class. Quiet down." Mr. Foster says.
After class, the next two fly by. I'm now walking down to lunch. I don't really know where I'm going, so I end up in an unknown hallway.
Seriously? I'm lost already..
I pout. Yes, I pout like a little kid. I keep walking until I somehow end up in the library.
Well, I guess I'm staying in here for lunch..
I look around for a book section I might like. I end up in the very back, looking through a shelf. As I reach to grab a book, my hand touches someone else's. I retract my hand quickly.
I look through the shelf to see one of those guys from the dinner..again.
"Oh..um. If you want it you can have it." He says, referring to the book. "A-ah..no that's o-okay.." I reply nervously.
He walks around to this side of the bookshelf. "You're that one that bumped into us before." He says. I nod. "S-sorry again." I say looking down, not wanting to meet his gaze. "It's fine. Really." He says. I nod again. "You don't say much..well besides sorry. Do ya?" He asks. I look up to see him staring into my eyes. "N-no. I guess not." I reply. He smiles.
"What are you doing in here newbie? Shouldn't you go eat?" I hear a guy from behind him say. The scary guy from the dinner says. "..got l-lost." I state looking down again.
