New Kid In Town

He's Back

It's been two weeks since I've had my mates. I'm really happy. Schools been going well and everything's just amazing in general.

School flew by today, I'm now in Shawns truck, riding around with him and the others. Shawn and Aiden are in front, while me, Luca and Nathan are in the back with me in the middle.

We grabbed a bite to eat at the dinner already and we also went and watched a movie. So, you know, date night.

We're listing to music with Nathan and Aiden singing along. I laugh at the high pitched noises coming from them both. Though, Shawn keeps having to tell Nathan to sit down. 

We pull into my driveway when I see another car there. 

Did mom invite someone over..?

I get out of the truck, having to climb over Luca. Shawn stops me at the window. "Did your mom invite someone over pequeño?" He asks. "I don't really know.." I say looking over at the car. "Want us to come in?" Aiden asks from over Shawn's shoulder.

"No, that's okay..It might be someone from her office." I say. "Don't want to scare anyone with five random people just sudden barging into the house." I add laughing at the thought.

"Alright then. We'll wait here until you give us the okay." He says. "Alright." I reply with a smile.

I peek him on the lips before walking up the stairs. I twist the doorknob to only realize that its locked.

She never locks the door..

I take out my keys and unlock it. I walk in to be greeted with an empty house. "Mom?" I call. No reply. I look around before going to her room. Still nowhere to be found. I look around the whole house, still not being able to find her.

I'm starting to get worried. Her cars still outside, and so is that other one. I walk back out to the truck.

"I can't find her." I say, nervous. Shawn turns the car off. "She's gotta be 'round her somewhere." Luca says. Getting out of the car with the others.

"We can go look over the woods." Aiden says, referring to him and Luca. I nod. "I'll go down the road a little." Shawn says. "Me and you can go sweep the house over one more time." Nathan says. "Okay.." I reply. Everyone goes their separate ways.

Nathan grabs me hand and we go look over it once again. Once we complete the search and come up dry, I start panicking. "We'll find her puppy." Nathan says, wrapping his arm around my waist. I nod.

Mom..where are you?

I walk over to the unknown persons car and look around it. I try the door, and it opens. I look through everything, to finally find a picture in the middle consul. 

I look at it. It's me mom and..and the man I once called my father. 

No. There's no way he's here..t-there's no way.

I get out and close the door, only for my knees to give out. My vision goes blurry as I think of all the things he's done.

He's the same father that beat me when I stuttered. The same father that burned me with cigarettes when he just felt like it. The same father that threw alcohol bottles at me and my mom. The same one that left us for another women and kid.

He's the whole reason we moved here. Him and his family. I had to stay with them for a while. That women he married would hit me and lied on me to get me beat by that man. Their son would beat me at school and turn everyone else there against me, even the teachers.

"Del..lta..Delta!" I finally snap out of it to see Aiden in front of me, shaking me out of my own head and thoughts.

I look up to him and the others behind him. I feel tears running down my face. 

"H-he's back." I say.
