Friends

Kayla heard her alarm and starts to slowly wake up batting her eyes. She yawns fully waking up. When she feels more prepared to actually get up. She starts to sit up in her bed. She gets up slowly feeling her bones crack, then she walks over to the window peering out. She could feel the fresh morning sun bask in her room. She then walked over to her closet opened it, peered into it, picked out a normal shirt with a jacket to go with ripped mom jeans, and put it on. She looks into the mirror putting her hair into two buns.

She walks out of her room making her way to her stairs, while on her way she made sure to check her clock to make sure that she wasn't late for school, which to her luck started in an hour. She makes her way down her stairs and goes into her kitchen. Kayla's parents were almost always on business trips so she had to fend for herself when it came to meals, so it was no surprise when her parents were nowhere in sight and there was a note on the fridge. She trudged over to the note and reads it. The note reads:

'Dear Kayla, sorry that we couldn't be there to drop you off at school or make you breakfast, we had a surprise business trip that we didn't have time to tell you about. we hope you can fend for yourself for as long as we have to be gone. If you need to go to the store we left 30$ for food and snacks in the cookie jar, have a good week. Love, Mom, and Dad.'

As much as she hated the fact that she had to deal with her parents always being gone and having nobody to actually hang around so that she wasn't lonely. Kayla has a normal life she has pretty normal grades, she also doesn't get bullied at all. Kayla skips her breakfast and makes her way over to her roller skates putting them on and putting her shoes in her backpack. She leaves her house and makes her way to school skating peacefully, When she sees a few kids in one of her classes she skates over to them. 

 "Hi," Kayla says in a cheerful tone with a giant smile on her face, trying to be as nice as she could.

"Oh... Hi? " a kid with black hair says. He has a bit of a sassy tone.

 " I think you are in my science class, my name is Kayla," she replied knowing that she would soon be leaving to go to her first class of the day.

 " Oh, yeah I've seen you before. You sit in the back right of the class correct? By the way, my name is Dustin. " Dustin said, he sounded kind of happy to know that a girl was finally talking to him. Kayla nods to The boy's sentence.

The group of boys starts to slow down entering the school grounds. Kayla keeps on skating knowing that when she got to the door she would have to take her roller skates off and in her bag. When she finally makes it to the doors she stops and sits down to take her skates off. While she takes her skates off to see Troy walking towards her in the corner of her eye. She takes her shoes out of her backpack and starts to slip them on. While she's lacing them Troy starts to talk.

 "Hey princess, why the hell do you wear the stupid roller skates?" Troy said with a rude tone while staring at your face to see if he could find a reaction of not to no avail. 

 "Troy, I wear them because I need a fast way to school and I don't really like to bike or walk because usually, it takes too long," Kayla replies knowing that Troy was just trying to get under her skin like usual. "Plus I can ride these skates really well."

 "Whatever princess, you're a fucking nerd, you know that right?" Troy said walking away trying to impress the girl he 'needed' to call princess instead of Kayla. Kayla just nodded her head as troy walked farther and farther.

While this talk was going on between Kayla and Troy, Kayla finished lacing and tying her shoes. She then stands up and goes through the school doors. She starts to walk down the hallway and to her locker. When she gets to her locker she puts in her combination and opens her locker. She grabs the supplies require"d for her first class which is English and starts to walk to her class.

Kayla was in her class and sits down in her seat, took her notebook out started to sketch, and waited for the class to begin. When the class begins Kayla puts her notebook to the side and starts to pay attention to what the teacher says. When the class is about to end the teacher announced that there was going to be a group project. Kayla isn't very excited about the project because she doesn't know anyone in the class. 

Kayla looks around the class to see if there was anybody that would be a good partner when her eyes land on a bit with a bowl cut. She keeps him in mind as the teacher explains that they are able to pick partners and the topic of the project. When the teacher finishes talking and lets everyone get up to choose their partner 

Kayla walks up to the boy with the bowl cut and asks, "Hey what's your name, I don't think I've ever talked to you before?"

 "Oh my name is William Byers but everybody just calls me Will, your name is Kayla right? you were talking to my friends while we were riding our bikes to school." Will said with a matter-of-fact tone.

 "Oh I was, anyways I wanted to see if we could be partners for the team project. I'm not friends with anyone in this class so it would make me happy if I could at least have another nerd as a partner instead of having to do this myself." Kayla says knowing that she wasn't going to have to do all of the projects if she were to work with the infamous Will.

 " Oh, yeah, sure, I would love to be your partner, usually I just team up with a random kid because none of my friends have this class. I think we should plan what were going to do for this project so that we can do it fully 50/50 instead of one of us doing most of it. " Will said with an adorable smile on his face.

Kayla and Will then started to plan what they were going to do for the project, while doing so making a bunch of jokes and got along. At one point they start to become friends and by the end of the class, Will and Kayla were best friends. The teacher dismisses the class and everybody starts to file out of the class. 

Kayla and Will, still glued together, check their classes to see which ones they had together, seeing that they had the next class together they happily start to make their way to their next class.
