That day no one came to the café, which saved Rudy. For I doubt he knows how to cook but I still gave him the job. Well, maybe because I'm tired and all my plans don't work. I'm just not good at this. I sighed before leaving for home after completing my full-time work that is only on Sundays.

The ting of the bell made Rudy run out of his locker room half-dressed. I didn't move a step after hearing the loud noise of the old door cracking open.

"Aman!?" He said while pulling his t-shirt down. "Is this how the café is always?" He asked, pulling the handle of his bag and wearing the other one after that.

I walked out and he followed. "When I came over here, I had made up my mind to increase the customers as the manager of the café." I said still walking while he followed. "Nothing works. I put offers and discounts, gifts for kids, and many other things. I am not a good manager. I don't know why the owner is still running this cafe. Being in charge of the business and running it is not my thing. I gave up."

"You shouldn't." He blocked my way.

"So? What do you think I should do?" I asked.

"Try. One must never stop trying." He went back beside me. "I have some ideas."

My moving feet stopped. "Really?"

"Yes," he smiled. His smile shined brightly in the light of the setting sun.

"Follow me then."

I always thought Rudy was just like his name suggested rude, irrelevant, and moody. For some reason I hated him. At first, I didn't know why he was getting so friendly with us. It would be a lie if I said I tried to understand him. But it's never too late. Seems like today itself my view of him will change.

I opened the door and placed my bag and groceries on the kitchen platform. Rudy was moving around observing my house, his expression was unique. Making it difficult for me to describe or understand.

"What a lovely and warm house!" He said. Pfft! Warm. This is the home that took happiness from everyone that lived in it. Perhaps, if he knew, he would never think of the house as warm.

I walked towards my room to change and he asked the question I wanted to avoid as much as I could.

"You live alone?"

"Yes." I went in and came out quickly after changing.

He was busy on his phone and immediately switched it off when I arrived.

"I hope you won't mind some rice?" I asked.

"I won't."

"Which one would you like?" I pulled out a vessel to boil the rice.

"Any."

"Biriyani?"

He pulled a chair from the corner and placed it in front of the kitchen platform.

"Do you have a book or something?" I gave him what he asked for. " Let me see, I have some good ideas. Do you have some reports or anything? "

" It's at the café. "

He started scribbling in the book and I continued my cooking.

After the boiling step was done. I rinsed the rice well and then started cutting my vegetables, cutting them long is the best and fastest option. I made my ginger garlic paste and then heated the oil and made the  corn flour batter. The vegetables, bathed in the corn flour and we're ready to get half-cooked in the oil.

Low flame and medium size pressure cooker to let it heat before I put vegetables and rice in it. I gently placed the first layer of rice, which should be thin, and then put my garnished vegetables, in the spices and then another layer of rice and repeated the same process. Turn the heat to medium after closing the lid keeping the air vent open.

Now we just have to wait to let it cook.

"You are done?" Rudy looked at me. "It was fun to see you engrossed in your cooking."

"You—"

"I was done an hour ago but felt like I shouldn't disturb you." He laughed. "You love cooking, don't you?"

"What did you write?" I ignored his question.
Cooking gives me pleasure, when I'm sad I like cooking but that is a hobby my father hates. I knocked hard on my head, why did I have to think about him?

Renovation? Change the staff? New recipes? Create Attractions?

"This looks like garbage to me." I closed the book and pulled out two dishes and a cold drink from the fridge. "Sit down, let's eat."

"I need more time of course. But some of the solutions in there are good." Rudy sat down obediently and started pouring the cold drink into two glasses.

I nicely placed the rice carefully picking up the vegetables that are the main essence of taste.
"Here."

"Wow." He dug into the rice immediately and stuffed his mouth with them. "They are yummy." He said, still chewing a few.
He was very hungry.

His behavior made me chuckle. My god, who is this kid?

He left along with the book saying he might need it and will make sure to get a good strategy by tomorrow. "Tomorrow will be filled with surprises. Just you wait." He said before leaving.

Like he said the next day was filled with surprises or should I say disasters. I almost regretted my decision.
