Y/N POV
She walked over and sat down at my desk, putting her feet up on it.

Loona: "tell me what's wrong, dorkus"

I stand there, thinking about how to proceed. My knees start feeling weak, my nerves are all out of whack. I just kinda sigh, then say timidly

Y/N: "I had a dream about my time in combat"

Loona: "can't have been that bad, sure ya saw a few guys get blown up but that's just an average Thursday here"

Y/N: "...you know nothing of humans, do you?"

Loona: "what's there to learn? They work, eat, sleep, shit, and die, not that complicated"

Y/N: "well Loona, it's not that simple."

I think about it.

Y/N: "the average human hates death Loona, whether seeing it or hearing about it. The only time a human loves death, is if they're a nationalistic and patriotic civilian during war time, even then when the massive reports of death and destruction roll in, they tend to change their tune."

Loona: "why do they hate it? It's natural"

Y/N: "I know, but a lot of people have difficulty processing and understanding death, so they don't like it. I'm the same way"

Loona: "then why did you join the army?"

Y/N: "I was young and dumb, thought I'd be home by Christmas and go home with a medal on my chest, guess where that got me"

Loona: "right down here to hell"

Y/N: "exactly"

She just rolled her eyes

Loona: "at least you were clean"

I went silent

Y/N: "actually, I wasn't"

Loona: "huh?"

Y/N: "the trenches were filthy. There was mud, blood, and dirt everywhere. Bits of old rotten food spread out from soldiers that weren't able to finish their meals before death struck them, rats the size of cats ran amok, eating men alive, eating uniforms, really anything they could get their little rat paws on. The putrid stench of our open latrines and death spread through the air. Men woke up with rats eating their rations, or them. Then there was trench foot, oh god, trench foot"

Loona: "what's trench foot?"

Y/N: "In laymen's terms, it's when your feet rot off your leg from the extended exposure to wet and muddy conditions. You can easily get trench foot, and you have to be careful or it means you're more than likely going to become a cripple, but I'd rather have been a cripple than a soldier on the front lines, god damn it why did I sign up?"

I'd started tearing up again, remembering what was happening in the living world right now, I was just glad to be gone, but, I'm sad about my family, and Angela, oh god Angela! I never said goodbye! At that my eyes just open up like faucets and I just start bawling. Crying into nothing as I fall to my knees, burying my face into my hands and making my coworker probably extremely uncomfortable.

Loona: "you need a pillow to cry into man?"

Y/N: "I-It'd be n-nice"

Loona: "be back in like five minutes"

She walked out. I just sobbed into my hands, fully expecting her to not return, why would she worry about a dork like me?

Loona POV

I walk out to the office lobby and start looking at the pillows spread out everywhere. I don't mean just a passing glance I mean a in depth look to find out which one Blitz didn't do something bizarre or obnoxious with. I eventually find a normal one, walking into the kid's office. Something I'm not understanding, how can they let someone that young go into a combat zone if the fighting going on up there is so bad? I'll ask him tomorrow, if he'll tell me. I open the door, seeing him traumatized and on his knees. He was just crying, understandable, I think. I grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and picked him up, putting the pillow on the couch in his office and placing him down. He looked at me, very confused and nervous.

Y/N: "h-huh?"

Loona: "don't look too much into it, I just want you crying on the floor like an idiot"

Y/N: "but"

Loona: "just accept it idiot"

He shut up, just deciding he should rest or some shit like that. He covered himself up with a trench coat and started tearing up more. I just roll my eyes. As I start leaving I hear a timid voice

Y/N: "t-thank you"

Loona: "no problem, dork"

I walk to my desk to start packing up to go home for the night. It was late, so I'm gonna go get fucking hammered to deal with life for a while, because I'm a big girl, I can make my own decisions. I walk out the door and head off to the nearby bar.
