Chapter 4: plans and wedding invintations

A/n: sorry for not uploading as more frequently, school has been kicking my butt,
This chapter is mostly filler so it is shorter. The next to chapters will be more interesting and longer.

July 26, 1979

As Remus and Sirius ate around their small dinner table in their flat, expecting it to be like any other breakfast.

Sirius's owl had flown in with a small neat letter.

As Sirius reached out to grab it, he was shocked to see his family crest.

Sirius left out a big breath

"Sirius love?" Remus asked confused to sirius's shocked expression

Sirius looked to Remus with a surprised expression and silently handed Remus the letter.

Dear Sirius Black

We would like to invite you to the betrothal of Alecto Carrow and Regulus Black.

The wedding will be at the Black family home at 1pm.

After finishing reading the letter, Remus looked up to Sirius again.

Both of their faces were covered in surprise and shock.

"Is this some kind of sick joke" Sirius asked aloud

Truthfully, Remus had no idea.

July 27, 1979

James and Remus were sitting at James's dining table.

"How the hell do you even crash a wedding?" James said, putting his hands in his hair.

"Let's start off with what we know about this wedding." Remus stated

"I know the wedding is on August 1st.." James stated

Remus nodded, writing it down in a notebook.

"I know the wedding is at grimmauld place" James said, thinking aloud

Remus wrote more

"And I know that only purebloods are invited, and at the end of the ceremony they will be doing unbreakable vows." James said

"Okay.." Remus said, finishing writing all that they knew in a notebook.

"I think we're going to have to get into the wedding before they do the unbreakable vow." Remus stated

"But how do we get into the wedding, neither of us got an invitation" James stated.

Remus thought back to the morning before.

"I think I have a way."

July 28th, 1979

As the days to Regulus's wedding came closer and closer, the more trapped he had felt.

2 nights before when all of the wedding invitations were being sent out Regulus quickly grabbed one and sent it to Sirius.

Walburga would definitely not have approved having her disowned son at her other son's wedding, but at this point Regulus couldn't care less.

Majority of the wedding preparations had been finalized and completed. Orion and Walburga had bought a large family home for Alecto and Regulus to move into, after the wedding. All the decorations and wedding food was planned and ready to be set up and made, when the wedding would come.

So with everything done, it left Regulus alone in his childhood bedroom, to drown in his own thoughts.

The room all around him had been a room he had grown quite accustomed to. Really it was the only place he could escape the expectations of him being the perfect Pureblood replacement son for Sirius, and everything his mother and father wanted for him.

Maybe Regulus was being overly sappy, and maybe how he felt didn't make sense.

I mean, why was he said to leave his abusive parents? The house he had so many bad memories of watching his brother be hit and tortured, of him being hit and tortured? He honestly didn't know.

Perhaps the familiarity of the house and what he expected from it was somewhat comforting. Knowing that there wouldent be change.

But now that change was happening, Regulus was afraid.

He was afraid of change.

July 30, 1979

The plan James and Remus had come up with was simple, but would hopefully work.

James would accompany Sirius to the wedding, under his invisibility cloak, and wait with him.

Then during the ceremony, before the unbreakable vow, James would take the invisibility cloak and hopefully take regulus and apprate away, to live happily ever after.

Was the plan a bit dramatic? Sure, but in a family like the blacks where drama is practically their middle name, James was sure it was fine.

"Now that we have a plan we have to tell Sirius." Remus stated, as if it was obvious

"What no? I'm not telling Sirius about me and Regulus, are you crazy?" James asked, surprised

"Are you crazy?" Remus asked, putting emphasis on you.

James looked confused

"I know better than anyone that Sirius would lose his shit, if he found out about you and regulus." Remus stated

"Though I do think you should tell him eventually." Remus added on

James rolled his eyes.

"Anyways, I mean like, if I went with Sirius to the wedding as his plus one, then you could sneak with us with your invisibility cloak." Remus said

James thought for a moment

"Yeah.. that probably could work." James replied

"Okay then. It's settled." Remus said smiling.

James smiled back,

"Those purebloods won't know what hit them.".
