Lily hands you a cup of coffee as she sits down and puts her own on the table.

"So, how have you been," you say while sipping the coffee.

"Oh, fine, I guess. Hannah is going to therapy, and even though it's been three weeks, I can see that she has improved a lot. She doesn't even see the man without the face, which puts my nerves at rest. But what about you? How have you been?"

"oh, I'm fine as well. I haven't been doing much apart from work and preparing to come here," you say with a small smile.

"Hmm, that reminds me, what exactly is your job?"

" I'm a forensic scientist."

"OHHhh," she laughs.

You sit back and give her a confused expression.

"What's so funny?"

"I'm so sorry. It makes sense that you are a forensic scientist," you smile at her comment.

"Yeah, I guess."

"But I am just a bit surprised that you're not a detective or something."

"Yeah, I kinda get that comment from my coworkers, but honestly, I prefer science concerning criminal cases."

" So I take it you're here for Richy's funeral," Lilly says with a sad smile.

You pause at the mention of the funeral, and flashes of Richy's face invade your mind.

" Well, it is one of my reasons for being here," you say while sipping my drink.

" Is that another reason, Jake?"

You pause again at his name and look down. You had already decided that this trip was to be there for your friend and their trauma, and that was all.

" No... I came here to be there for you guys. All of you have gone through hell looking for Hannah, and when we finally find her and the dust has settled, you realise two people's lives have been taken in the process.

I was friends with Richy, and seeing things turn out like this hurts me. You knew him longer than I did and cared for him more than I could imagine. It hurts me to see all of you like this. I want to help as much as possible, starting with being here."

Lily looked at me with a solemn face.

"That's very sweet, but you shouldn't discount your feelings. We have all been through hell, and all of us have lost someone."

Tears threaten to fall from your face, but you stop them. Lily sees this and gets up to hug you.

"Thank you"

After the conversation, Lily showed you to your room. The building seemed pretty old, and as you walked up the spiral stairs, you noted the old farm pictures that were hung on the walls.

"Don't mind the decorations. Miss Pea loves them for some reason and won't take my advice to put them down. The painting makes it worse as if this place doesn't already look old."

You giggled a bit at Lily's comment and continued walking.

"Okay, this is your room."

You were taken away by how lovely it looked inside. The room was small, but the atmosphere and decorations made up for it. At the far right end of the room was a small desk with a lap, and in front of it was a window that let the light. The bed was positioned in the middle at the back of the room. The covers were snow white and looked so soft, like clouds in the middle of spring. There was also a bathroom filled with small shampoo bottles, but you didn't mind since you had brought your own.

" So, what do you think of the room? I know it kinda looks old, but I promise you-"

"Perfect. I love it," you say with a smile.

"Oh great, I'm glad you like it; I'll leave you to your room then." Lily was about to leave the room when she turned back to look at me.

"Does anyone know that you are here?" she asks.

"No, I haven't told anyone yet; I wanted it to be a bit of a surprise, so I was thinking I could tell them when I finished unpacking."

"Ohh yeah, they will be surprised," she says broadly before leaving.
