I have been working at the Aurora for a while because Phil said they were short-staffed, so I offered to step in. Phil is such a fun guy to talk to but can be a little flirty, but I try to ignore it.

Once I had finished my shift, I was about to leave when I heard a deep voice call out my name.

"Hey, Y/n, before you go, do you want to have a drink with me?"

I thought about it for a second. Jake had been working on this new programme and told me not to disturb him too much. Plus, I had nothing else to do at home.

"Yeah, sure, I'll join you," I say, walking back towards him.

*1 hour later

Phil and I have been talking about different stuff for a while. Apart from his flirty persona, he is a really interesting guy. He talked about travelling to different countries and meeting interesting people. By the time I checked my phone, I realized how long I had stayed.

"Oh shoot, I stayed here longer than I should have. I really should be heading off now."

"Are you sure you don't want another drink?" he says with a sheepish grin on his face.

Before I could even give an answer, another answered for me.

"No, she doesn't want another; she is coming home with me," Jake said, glaring at Phil.

"Yeah, I think it's best I go. I'll see you on Friday then," I say while the two glare at each other like mortal enemies.

I quickly grabbed my stuff and pulled Jake out of the building. We then headed to his car. Once we got inside, I could really see how angry Jake was.

"You know I don't like the guy. Why would you have drinks with him?" he says, trying to restrain his anger.

"First of all, he is not just some guy. He is my friend, and we were catching up," I reply

Jake takes a deep breath and then looks at me with his blue sad eyes.

"Y/n, I want you to be honest with me. Do you like Phil?" He asks.

I look at him, shocked. He really is jealous of Phil.

"I saw the way you were laughing and smiling in the bar before I came in. He seems to make you really happy. You haven't looked at me like that in days" He says looking down.

" Hey Jake, listen to me. I do not like Phil in that way whatsoever. You're the only person I have eyes for. As for us not spending time together, I thought that you wanted to be left alone because you were working on a new programme." I say, trying to get him to look at me

"I'm sorry, I must sound like a whiny baby to you."

"Don't be sorry. You know what, why don't we spend time together now? There is this movie that I wanted to watch with you. This seems like the perfect opportunity to watch it. What do you say?"

"Okay, sure," he says with a small grin on his face.
