It had been two months, two whole months and the woman was sitting with her phone in hand staring at the wall as she raised her hand to her mouth and rested against it, she had put in for a few days holiday, Monday through to Wednesday so that she could go out shopping and do up the kitchen, sorting out everything from the damp in the corner, repainting and re wrapping the kitchen counters in a new vinyl and cleaning out all the cupboard, but as Monday morning came along she had received a call from Mary.
Rosemary had been clinging on for two months, getting better before ultimately passing, she had witnessed Loki have around three girlfriends, all of which lasted two weeks before he got bored of them, Lucas turning his nose up after meeting every one of them and coming back afterwards telling Clarissa how much of a disaster they are and saying he had to witness them dry hump one another after one too many drinks.
After every day passed she got more and more bored, returning home from work to eat dinner, clean up the house and go to bed, every single day. Before Loki showed up her routine got her through the day but since being apart of his mania she had become bored of the every day, never taking a vacation day in her career but after staring at the paint chipped walls she decided she needed to do something to keep her mind off of the disaster that was her day to day life.
After two solid hours of scrubbing the oven clean and repainting the kitchen she couldn't stop thinking about the woman, her whole job was based around looking out for Rosemary to help her with her cup of water, her whole career she had been looking out for her and now it just felt useless to even walk in knowing she wasn't going to be there.
The sound of the front door opening filled her ears and as she stood in the kitchen with her paintbrush in hand, finishing painting the doorframe and simply grasping onto the wooden handle and sighing out, slowly wandering out to the living area where she witnessed Loki standing with Lucas and a brunette girl, her eyes following to Lucas who stared at her with wide eyes and furrowed brows "I wouldn't go in there, I just painted, the window is open but don't touch the doorframe or the walls"
"Oooh, I love painting" The girl spoke with a grin, her eyes focus on red painted lips and shiny white teeth "Is this your sister, Lucas?"
"Yes I'm his sister, Clarissa, nice to meet you" She spoke, walking over and reaching out her hand, the woman glancing down at her hand that held blue splotches and she slowly retracted her hand "Sorry, didn't notice, I'm gonna go wash my hands"
"You okay?" Loki asked in confusion, the woman nodding turning to make her way into the kitchen, keeping her mouth shut as she ran the tap and squirted some hand wash onto her and reaching her hands under the water, eyes focused on the water spraying from the tap and she felt her heart pounding out of her chest, a sudden hand on her side shocking her out of her gaze "Clarissa? What's wrong"
"I-I... Nothing" She snapped, turning off the tap and shaking her hands, turning around and seeing the man with furrowed brows looking down at her "Just leave it"
"Okay Princess, just relax" He spoke, reaching out to touch her waist but she simply pulled away and shook her head, wiping her hands on her trousers, his eyes gazing over the jogging bottoms covered in paint and a camisole ripped at the side with paint on the fabric "What happened? Talk to me"
"Nothing happened" She muttered, slipping through the doorway and rushing up the stairs to her bedroom, raising her hands to her hair and letting out a sigh and making her way to the bathroom, unwilling to stay downstairs and entertain Loki and his two week wonder.
