"How are you so good at this?!"

Madara sighed at Ruby's frantic shout as she danced around him, a flurry of Rose Petals in her wake as she tried desperately to land a blow on his with her scythe. Alas, Madara's skill was a couple dozen tiers above what she could even hope to comprehend, each of her strikes effortlessly deflected with the slightest move of his Kama.

"I have trained with Mōmoku since I was very young, I made sure to master it's capabilities." Madara spat his weapon's name like a curse, even if he had only just made it up. Ruby had asked what his Kama's names was, and when saying that it didn't have one, she hadn't quit pestering him about it. Eventually, just to shut her up, he gave it one.

He thought "Blind" was quite fitting, especially when he looked into the reflection of the steel.

"You still won't tell me what that means!" Ruby whined, bringing Crescent Rose down in an overhead slash, only to be knocked away by Madara. But she kept up her assault, swinging in multiple different directions, making sure to always recover quick enough as to not leave an opening for Madara to exploit.

Although, he hadn't actually fought back this entire time.

"If you can put me on the ground, I'll tell you." He taunted boredly, but even behind his calm facade, he found it quite amusing. She could easily just use a translator for that Mistrali Language and get something similar, but she didn't have to know that.

"That's gonna take forever! It's like you've spent 100 years training with this thing!" She argued, jumping back to fire a high caliber sniper shot, which Madara effortlessly cleaved in two.. He smirked, chuckling to himself silently.

'You have no idea how right you are...'

As Ruby dashed in for yet another strike, Madara finally went for an offensive counter, hooking her scythe with his own and tearing it from her hands, before kicking her in the gut with lightning speed, sending her tumbling to the ground in a heap.

"That's enough for today, I advise you to attempt to beat me instead of cowering behind your inevitable defeat." Madara was harsh in his words, but found them to be the best method of improving his student. It seemed that bluntly telling her how to improve worked quite well, in his opinion.

"O-okay...but beating you? I don't know if that's possible..." Ruby choked out as she got up from the ground, rubbing her stomach in pain. Madara took a few steps closer, putting a gloved hand on her shoulder as he stared into her silver orbs.

"Do not claim anything to be impossible, it is the will of strong men that changes the world." His words were cryptic, as if attempting to plant a seed of darkness in her mind. Ruby nodded dumbly, more concentrated on the proximity of the two. She fought back a blush as Madara turned away, watching as he began walking towards the gym exit, before turning around suddenly.

"Ruby."

"Y-yes, Madara?"

"Your eyes, is there something special about them?" Ruby frowned at his words, a blush forming on her face at the thought of them, but she quickly turned to other thoughts, as she knew he would never say such a thing without reason.

She had received many compliments about her silver eyes throughout her life, and although her dad had told her it was because they were unique, it was still somewhat strange to the young girl. She recalled it being the first thing Ozpin commented on when they met too...

"I don't know....but Ozpin might know, it's the first thing he noticed about me." She eventually settled on. Madara's eyes narrowed, pitch black orbs sparking with hidden emotion. He hummed audibly, a small smirk settling on his pale lips.
