Kurt walked into the Lima Bean and almost immediately noticed his boyfriend, who was sitting with another guy. Kurt walked over, ready to confront Blaine and the stranger. As he approached the table, he realized who the stranger was and that he wasn't much of a stranger at all.
Kurt stood next to Blaine, speechless and staring at the boy across from him.
Blaine, oblivious to the situation, spoke, "Oh, Kurt, this is Sebastian. Sebastian, this is my boyfriend, Kurt."
"Boyfriend," Sebastian muttered disappointedly.
"Yeah," Blaine didn't understand that it was directed at Kurt. "I told you I have one."
Kurt and Sebastian were still staring at each other, blatantly ignoring the third boy. Suddenly, Blaine turned to face Kurt, wondering why he hasn't said anything yet. He looked kind of awestruck, and his boyfriend was trying to figure out what exactly elicited that reaction.
"Are you alright, Kurt?" Blaine questioned. Hearing his name snapped Kurt out of his memories with his summer love from two years prior. He glanced at his current boyfriend and nodded.
"Could you get me coffee? I, uh, I'd like to speak with Sebastian for a moment."
"Sure," he agreed wearily, getting up from his seat.
"Thanks." Kurt smiled and almost gave him a kiss on the cheek but stopped, thinking of the boy sitting across from them. Kurt sat in the newly vacant chair. Once Blaine was out of earshot, Kurt breathed out, "Bastian. What are you doing here?"
"My parents got divorced, and dad made me move back here with him."
"I'm sorry."
He shrugged before smirking. "If I knew you'd be here, I wouldn't have put up such a fuss about moving."
Kurt couldn't help but smile. He had missed Sebastian and constantly thought of him.
"The boyfriend is a bit of a problem, though."
Kurt sighed. "Yeah..."
"Breaking up with him is an option, you know."
"I can't just drop him like that."
"Sounds like you want to, though."
"I've missed you," Kurt admitted quietly in lieu of a direct response.
"But you've moved on."
"Says who?"
"The fact that you have a boyfriend," Sebastian said with a bit of an attitude.
"I didn't think I'd ever see you again. I had to try and move on."
"I sense a but coming on."
Kurt let out a small chuckle before proving the other boy right, "But I haven't exactly been able to stop thinking about you."
"So you're telling me I have a chance."
"I said nothing," he denied playfully.
"How much convincing will it take?"
"Bastian..." Kurt started before seeing that Blaine was coming back with two cups. He set them down on the table and pulled up another chair since Kurt took his.
"So what'd I miss?" Blaine asked innocently.
"Nothing much. Just getting to know your new friend," Kurt answered.
"So I heard about this gay bar in the area, Scandals, I think it's called. Care to join me later this week?" Sebastian invited the couple.
"Oh, I'm not sure. I don't think that's really our thing."
Kurt interrupted Blaine. "We're in."
Blaine knew Kurt visited France to spend time with his grandparents. What he didn't know was that he met a boy during that time and ventured out to bars and the like. He hasn't seen the fun and adventurous side of Kurt that Sebastian witnessed back in France.
"Are you sure?" Blaine looked at Kurt. "I didn't think that was your kind of scene."
Kurt shrugged, glancing at Sebastian for his reaction. He had an eyebrow raised, knowing full well Kurt had a great time whenever they went out together. "C'mon, it'll be fun. If you don't want to go..."
"No, we'll go. You're right. It'll be fun. We need to start on that bucket list eventually."
Kurt smiled at his boyfriend. In reality, he was just glad he'd have an excuse to see Sebastian again.
"Cool. How's Friday at eight?"
"Perfect," Kurt said.
Sebastian winked. "See you guys then. I've got fakes I can give you on Friday."
"Great," Blaine replied, feeling slightly nervous and skeptical.
They all said bye, and Sebastian left, leaving Kurt and Blaine at the small table.
"You actually said yes," Blaine commented in disbelief. "We barely even know him."
Speak for yourself, Kurt thought to himself.
"You could've said no, Blaine."
"And let you go alone? Yeah, okay."
"You say it like I need to be protected." Kurt crossed his arms, not wanting to have this argument again.
"I just don't know how I feel about Sebastian yet. He could be a serial killer for all we know."
"I doubt Dalton would allow a serial killer to attend their school."
Blaine chuckled. "I just don't know if he's trustworthy."
"It'll be fine. Besides, we're going to a public place. There will be other people around."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"I always am."
Blaine didn't say anything else.
They sat, quietly sipping their coffee from time to time. Both were lost in thought.
Blaine was trying to convince himself that he'll have a good time. That even if the bar is a bust, he'll be spending time with Kurt.
Kurt, meanwhile, was thinking of Sebastian, as he often did. He looked even hotter now than he did two years ago. Seeing him sparked something in Kurt that he hadn't felt since they'd been together. Blaine was great. He was nice and respectful...and boring. He doesn't have the mischievous streak Sebastian does. He's the perfect gentleman while Sebastian has no problem letting loose sometimes. Blaine likes to plan ahead and be prepared for everything, but Sebastian was spontaneous and was constantly surprising Kurt.
Since getting together, Kurt tried ignoring the blatant differences between the two boys. He couldn't help but compare Blaine to Sebastian, though. They were just so different. He thought going for someone that wouldn't remind him of the boy he had to leave would help him move forward. It didn't. And now, that boy was back. But Kurt couldn't break up with Blaine just like that. He'd feel guilty. He could imagine what Sebastian would have to say about it. He'd tell Kurt that he couldn't make decisions based solely off of other people and how they'd feel about it.
You're allowed to be selfish sometimes, Kurt, he'd tell him in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Hey, Blaine," he said after he finished his coffee. "Do you have Sebastian's number? I figure if I have to get in touch with him, it'd be easier than having to go through you."
"Yeah." He pulled out his phone and found Sebastian's contact. Kurt added the number to his own contacts and thanked him. "I have to get home. I'll see you at school tomorrow."
"Yeah, see you then."
Blaine gave him a quick peck on the cheek, still uncomfortable with PDA.
Sebastian never shied away from physical touch when we were in public, Kurt thought as he watched Blaine leave the coffee shop.
He let out an audible sigh before getting up to throw his empty cup away and leaving to go home.

FanfictionThis started out as a one shot of Kurtbastian based on the song Summer Love by One Direction. Then, I wrote a couple more scenes to go with it, so I decided to put it in its own little short story.
