three - we can't take this any further

Friday night came quickly. Kurt drove himself and Blaine to Scandals and met up with Sebastian outside. The latter handed each of the boys a fake ID, and the three of them got in line.

Successfully getting in, they immediately went to the bar. Sebastian began to order when Kurt quietly told him, "No alcohol for me. I have to drive this time."

Back in France, Kurt and Sebastian would frequent places within walking distance of one of their places. Both could drink without having to worry about driving.

Sebastian frowned. "But you're fun when you get drunk."

"Are you saying I'm not when I'm sober?" Kurt teased.

"Precisely." Sebastian smirked, falling into their old back and forth style of banter.

Kurt laughed, knowing he didn't mean it and turned to Blaine, who seemed confused. He hadn't heard the exchange and was wondering why Kurt seemed so comfortable around Sebastian. Kurt wasn't one to trust easily, but it was like he threw caution to the wind when it came to Sebastian. And Blaine had no idea why.

"Everything alright? You seem tense," Kurt pointed out to his boyfriend.

"Fine, just feeling a bit out of my element."

"Well," Sebastian handed him a beer. "This should help loosen you up."

He passed a glass to Kurt, "And a Shirley Temple for the designated driver."

"You think you're so funny," Kurt replied.

"I know I am, babe." He winked, causing Blaine to glare. As if just remembering it wasn't just the two of them, Sebastian apologized to Blaine without actually sounding sorry at all.

Kurt held back a laugh. He knew his boyfriend wouldn't appreciate it. He put his hand on Blaine's bicep and said, "Come on, let's go dance."

Blaine easily accepted, wanting Kurt to pay attention to him instead of Sebastian.

After awhile, Blaine mumbled something about going to sit at the bar while Kurt and Sebastian stayed on the dance floor.

Kurt took this chance to ask Sebastian a question that would help make his decision, "If I broke up with Blaine, would you take me back?"

"I'd be yours in an instant, Kurt."

Kurt smiled and felt himself blush. "I never stopped thinking about you. I went after Blaine to try to get over you because you two are basically opposites," he admitted sadly.

"Glad to know I'm exactly your type," Sebastian did his best to keep the mood light.

Kurt snorted. "I still don't know how I put up with that ego of yours."

"Because I have something else you enjoy that's as big as my ego."

"Oh, my god." Kurt laughed and smacked his arm.

"You know it's true, babe."

"Bastian," Kurt scolded him, but it came out more fond than annoyed.

Sebastian took a step closer but still enough distance that they weren't touching. He grew more serious. "I couldn't get over you either. I had one-night stands to make up for your absence, but it was only temporary relief."

They got lost, staring into each other's eyes. One of them began to move forward, but Kurt wouldn't be able to say who it was. But once he noticed, he took a step back. He wouldn't cheat on Blaine. Although, some may say he already was, being with someone while he had feelings for someone else. Kurt knew he had to break up with Blaine. It would hurt both of them, but it would hurt everyone involved more if he let it continue.

"Not yet," Kurt said breathlessly.

"Yeah, sorry."

Sensing a change in the mood, Kurt and Sebastian walked back over to the bar to join Blaine. He was sat on a stool, facing the dance floor and was likely watching the pair.

Blaine held his arms out, so Kurt moved forward and placed his arms around Blaine's neck. He smiled half-heartedly and gave him a peck on the lips. "Hi."

"Hi," Blaine echoed without much emotion.

"How are you feeling?"

Kurt couldn't help but notice their height difference in this moment. Obviously, it was a greater gap than usual since Blaine was sitting. But Kurt really liked how Sebastian was a little taller. He felt safe and secure in his arms. It didn't feel like that with Blaine, despite the protective, mentor role Blaine took on early in their relationship.

"Like I'm ready to go home." Blaine said honestly and shrugged.

"We can go."

"I wouldn't want to ruin your night. You looked like you were having fun out there." There was an edge to his voice that Kurt picked up on. Blaine was upset with what happened, but he tried his best to mask it. Kurt knew him too well, though.

"Blaine, I won't have fun if I know you're not. If you don't want to stay any longer, we can leave. I don't mind."

"I'm sorry." Blaine sighed.

"It's okay. I'll let Sebastian know, and we'll go, alright?"

"Thanks, Kurt."

"Of course. I'm sorry I dragged you here."

"S'okay." He gave a half smile.

They let go of each other, and Kurt looked for Sebastian. He wasn't far, but he was making a point of not looking their way. Kurt took a couple steps toward him. "Hey."

"Hey."

"We're gonna go."

"So soon?"

"It's not really Blaine's scene, and I did kind of drag him here."

"So tell him to get a cab back home." Sebastian came a little closer.

"Bastian," Kurt deadpanned.

"Sorry, but I'm trying really hard not to get super jealous right now. Seeing you with someone else hurts."

"I know," he said sympathetically. "But I can't just ditch him. He is still my boyfriend, and I did drive him here so..."

"Yeah, I get it," Sebastian grumbled. "That doesn't mean I like it."

"If it makes you feel any better, I do have plans to break up with him tomorrow."

"Wish you could do it now." Kurt just barely heard him.

He ignored the comment. "I have your number. I'll let you know when I get home, and I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"Fine."

"Bye, Bastian."

"Bye, Kurt."

Kurt got Blaine, and they left Scandals.
