Chase's pov

I watched her run out of my office, I wanted to go after her, "let her go", Kole said with his hand on my shoulder, he was starting to get my nerves now. Could he not see she was about to cry and that's because of me, I regret it but she needs to know her place she is even lucky I let her out of the room.

A few minutes passed by I did not see Elena around, did she escape? I walked out of my office leaving Kole there, I went to the kitchen. I when I looked outside I saw her she was looking at the roses, you can see she has no clue as to what she has gotten herself into by talking to someone like Dantè.

Elena is too innocent, she covers her ears like a small child when she hears something bad, her innocence scares me, even though she is an adult she lives in this world where she does not believe in bad things and after reading her report she has been through a lot. Her father is a dead man, her mother is an alcoholic, and her siblings do not care about her to even find out where she went after their father's death. By this I can tell Elena runs from her problems, she doesn't face them and by running from them they going to catch up with her one day.

I open the door and went by Elena, she didn't even bother to look at me, her anger towards me was justified. You could see she has been crying, her nose turned a light red and her eyes were a bit swollen. All I could think about is how can she let things bother her so much. She barely knows me and she let my words hurt her so much.

"Elena, I need to talk to you", is all I said she looked at me with her puffy eyes, she was still gorgeous even though she was crying. "What do you want from me now," she said in a sad tone. I don't like to see her like this, I have seen her smile she looks like an angel, "my sister Charlotte is coming just now to take you shopping since you don't have anything to wear, so get your act together and stop crying like someone died" I said to her.

The last thing I am trying to do is develop feelings for Elena because we all know a mafia boss can not end up with an angel or even fall in love.
