Becoming Vampire

2. Poisoning

Jeff doesn't need to wait too long to see the vampire he rescued again. The following week, at a reception in one of the King's ministers' house, he crosses paths with the Governor of Pondicherry accompanied by a very pale handsome young man.

Jeff is pleasantly surprised to see him in better circumstances. Bible's boss makes the introductions and Jeff learns about Bible's unusual byname. Apparently, he's a very devoted christian. Jeff wonders how will that work now that he's undead.

Bible as very good manners. They exchange some pleasantries, but when Jeff is about to move on, after a few minutes of closely observing Bible, he realises something it's not quite right with him.

He can see a layer of perspiration on his forehead, the white of his eyes has an unhealthy colour - even for a vampire-, and he can also smell the illness in him. It looks like something serious.

He manages to whisper in Bible's ear some instructions and less than half an hour later he gets rid of the last of the boring politicians to find Bible in the antechamber he told him to go to. He almost collapsed, his face turning grey.

Jeff gets the help of his valet to take him to his carriage. He gives some more instructions to his servant and asks the coachman to speed up to take the now unconscious Bible to his house as soon as possible.

In the carriage, Jeff tries to understand better what's wrong with him. There's a scent he can catch underneath Bible's other scents. It's blood but it doesn't seem like human blood... Maybe some poison? Maybe... Has he tried to feed from an animal? Silly boy.

Well, with his religious mindset it might very well have been that, he thinks, shaking his head.

Once inside the house, Jeff takes Bible to his bedroom, removes his coat and opens his shirt to lay him comfortably on his grand four-post bed. Not ten minutes later, his valet arrives with a prostitute, as he requested earlier, leaving quietly afterwards.

- My friend here is asleep, I hope you won't mind him - says Jeff, motioning for her to come sit near them on the bed. 

He doesn't have time for conversation. Once the woman is sitting nearby, with a stare and a subtle movement of his hand he hypnotises her. She slumps in between him and Bible. 

Jeff pierces the white skin near her collarbone, on top of her left breast, then brings Bible closer, watching him feed very very weakly.

After swallowing only a tiny amount of blood, Bible stops feeding and falls asleep, exhausted, over the woman's body. Jeff stares at them for a while, then separates Bible to remove his coat and waistcoat.

Jeff is trying hard to remember anything that could help Bible. He's so invested now in keeping him undead but he's not sure about what to do.

A few minutes later, Bible starts moving in his sleep, feverish. Jeff doesn't like feeling as helpless as he is now, so he takes Bible in his arms and feeds him mouth to mouth again. 

Many hours pass like that, the night becomes day and Jeff lies down beside Bible to sleep, waking up a couple of times to give him small mouthfuls of blood. 

The last time he feeds him before the night falls again, perhaps because of habit, because he's not completely awake, Jeff uses mind control to make the woman have an orgasm when he's sucking, and when he passes that last mouthful to Bible's lips, he hears him moaning very softly. 

The greyish tone on Bible's skin is almost gone, alongside the foul scent of animal blood. Jeff feels relieved and exhausted.

Jeff waits a over an hour for the woman's wounds to heal, then he wakes her up and sends her away with a little pouch full of coins in her pocket.
