Kai's Apology

Jay's POV

Today I noticed Kai was acting unusually suspicious. Always winking at me and stuff. When I was around, he held up his phone in his face and I think he was snapping a picture of me or something.

Later I saw why.

After dinner, Kai kind of slowly backed up from the table and stood next to me. He was dangerously close, his hand almost touching mine.

When the others' turned to the other side, he handed something to me.

I looked up just in time to see him wink and jump off to the sofa and click on the TV.

Eyeing him suspiciously, I lifted up my hand to find a letter inside of it. The envelope was glued with a picture of me. To Jay, from Kai.

I opened the letter, quietly backing off. I snuck into the monastery's library, where it was silent, dark, and eerie.

I was quite creeped out, but I just ignored everything and peeled off my picture and opened the letter.

Dear Jay,

I'm sorry.

I gasped. What was he being sorry for? He hadn't done anything!

I'm sorry for everything I've ever done that's hurt or affected you, like the following:

I'm sorry for not approving of you with Nya. It's just I was so overprotective and careful of her, because I was kind of like a father to her after our parents "died".

I'm sorry I kept "bullying" you and stuff, calling you the worst ninja, expendable and all that shit.

Oh, and I'm sorry I just swore. LOL.

But here's something!

It's a plot twist!

This ain't just an apology letter.

Hey, you're a great friend, Jay,

and you're quite funny, cute (yeah not cuter than Skylor but still),

You've had kind of a sad life,

But you're the happiest and most positive person I know.

Your Dear Friend Forever,

Kai.

PS: Nya told me that you're adopted. IDK how I didn't know before.

I gasped again. That letter was so confusing and surprising.

Did he just apologize to me? For something that didn't even hurt me? Should I write a letter back? Or should I talk to him in person?

I had no idea what to do.
