Heartland

One Year

It has been a rough year for Sam and I. We ended up having another miscarriage. So we kept trying. Sam was pacing outside the bathroom. "Anything," asked Sam. I was sitting on the toilet. "Few more minutes," i said. The timer went off. My heart dropped. I stood up. I walke over to the counter. I looked at the test. Sam opened the door. "Babe," said Sam. Tears rolled down my eyes. "Im pregnant," i said. I turned to him. He looked at me. "What," he asked. I picked up the test and walked over to him. "Were pregnant," i said. He picked me up. "We are having a baby," said Sam. He kisses me. "Lets keep it between us," i said. He put me down. "Ok," he said. He was so happy. I hope it works out. "Go work now ok," i said. "Ok mama," he said. Now we have to wait. This was hard. It has been almost three months since we found out. I was officially showing and into my second trimester.Sam had been great. He had been to every appointment. Now we decided to share the news with my family. We textes everyone to invite them for dinner to our house. I was i the bathroom. Looking in the mirror. The bump was barley visable. But it was there. We were finally in the clear. Sam was standing in the doorway. "You sure," he asked. I turned around to him. "Yeah," i said. He walked over to me. He put his hand on my belly. "Ok," said Sam. He walked back out. We decided on a BBQ. It was a nice day. Sam was on the grill. I wa sitting on the porch. I was feeling a little tired. The first guest arrived. It was dad. He parked next to my car. Dad got out and walked over to me. "Hey honey," said Tim. "Hey dad," i said. "You ok," he asked. "Just a little tired," i said. Then Amy amd ty. Then lou and peter. Then georgie and Lisa and Jack. Amy was helping my with the picnic table. "You look exhausted," said Amy. "I am," i said. Lou and Georgie walked over. "Why dont you sit down," said Lou. "Im good," i said. Everything was ready. The food was done. Sam walked over to me. He grabbed my hand. "Ready," he asked. I looked at him. "Ready," i said. We had everyone gather around. "We just wanted to have everyone over to celebrate the news we got," said Sam. "We had been keeping this on the downlow," i said. I took a deep breath."hope its good news," said Tim. I looked at Sam. "Well we are pregnant," we said. Everyone was shocked. "Wait really," asked Lou. I shook my head. "Im twelve weeks," i said. Everyone cheered. Lou wa the first one to run over to me. Then amy. "This is great news," said Amy.

We were all sitting on the picnic table. "Do you know what your having," asked Lisa. "Not yet the doctor did tell us this pregnancy will be high risk," i said. Sam looked at me. "What does that mean," asked Tim. "Because she had miscarriage s," said Sam. "There still a risk," asked Jack. "Yeah," i said.  They all looked worried. "So far everything is ok," i said. But in a short six months something will happened.
