"Kookie what happened?" I just look down as heat burns in my cheeks. "This is the wrong gate, Kookie. Flight 2215 has been moved to gate 51. Didn't you hear the announcements overhead?" I shake my head. "We had a second delay." My mouth falls open with a bang and a rush of shame as I get dragged off by security.
"Hey, you guys watch how you handle him!" Tae shouts. "I personally know this airport's manager! What the fuck is going on?"
As we walk, one of the security guards speaks. "Sir, we take bomb threats very seriously." I can't see Tae, but he goes silent for a few moments.
"Kookie, I am right here with you. We'll work it out." Then I see the corners of Tae's lips tip up into a ghost of a smile. Does he think this is funny?
"Tae you're going to miss your flight. I wanted to come with you." What a mess I've created; however, I find comfort in the fact that Tae's with me.
"Kookie, I decided not to go because I'd miss you terribly. I'll wait for you to come with me. I have to because I can't be without you." I look up at him and smile with a nod as one guard pulls me into the interrogation room. Tae is told to take a seat outside. A tough looking older guy comes in. He looks like he's military.
This guy offers me water, food, and a cigarette. I decline all of these. Oh God what did I do? I'm more despaired that I was so reactive and the way I treated the flight agent. Despicable.
This guy starts asking me about my trip. He presents himself as nice as if we're good friends. I know better than that. I've read enough books to know how this goes. After like ten minutes he questions me about the incident at gate 49. I ask for water and he smiles softly as he passes me a bottle of water. I also think how this could go bad, like they beat me. Although scare I have faith in my man, he'll fix it. With shaky hands I open the container and take a large gulp.
Before I start to explain, another older gentleman comes in the room. Everyone stands at attention. He whispers something in the other man's ear, and he nods. The main guy in charge turns towards me.
"Mr. Jeon, please accept our apologies and you are free to go." Slowly I rise with a dazed look. What the fuck just happened. I turn and leave.
I walk out of the room and see Tae waiting. He quickly stands and I run to him. My breath is shaky after such a traumatic experience. He holds me and I feel safe. "Baby, thanks for t-taking care of that." I whisper in a shaky voice. He kisses my cheek.
"Your man has lots of friends, many who I know from the Purple Raven." He said quietly and I chuckle. "Babe, we got a plane to catch."
He then takes my hand, and we hustle and run to our gate. The fight is in the middle of boarding, and we make it with ease and settle into our comfy first-class seating.
I calm down after a few drinks and tell Tae the entire story of my conversation with Sasha and my debacle at gate 49. "What am I going to do with you Kookie? He laughs full-heartedly. I smile and squeeze his hand, finding my own laughter.
"I'm sorry. I was scared and didn't want to waste one more minute being without you, Tae."
Tae's eyes fill with wetness, and my smile drops. "Baby, your love is really big for me as mine is for you. I don't ever want to be parted from you." My heart pounds as my entire body floods with joy with a full smile. I'm absolutely giddy.
"Tae I never want to be away from you too." Our pods are side by side and made for comfort and separation; however, awkwardly Tae moves in closer, and he gives me a delicious and passionate kiss. I smile like a crazy person.
The long flight seems to go faster than expected. We spend the time talking about pretty much everything. The first-class meals are delicious, and the flight attendant keeps our glass full until Tae cuts me off when I become a jovial giggling mess. I don't get upset because I know this is him looking out for me. Somehow, we manage to get in some sleep.
Tae wakes me as our plane gets closer to Colorado. "Babe, time to wake up." I blink as my eyelashes seem to weigh a ton holding my eyes open. Tae gives me a hot and soothing wet cloth. As I finish, our flight attendant arrives with a hot cup of coffee. "It's just the way you like it sweetheart. We're landing in 20 minutes, but I don't want you to miss these views." I smile softly raising my coffee to my lips.
"Mmm, this is good." It takes a few minutes for the caffeine to jolt me into clarity. I peer out the window and see glorious snowcapped mountains. I'm simply awe-struck with the view. I close my eyes and sigh as anticipation swims through me. Tae's amazing and points out some wonderful things.
As the plane goes lower, I get a better view of the snowy mountains. "Baby, I want to take you skiing while we're here. It's going to be good. You ever been on a snow board?" What the hell. Skiing and snowboarding, I think not.
"Tae, I'm not an outdoor snow person. Although beautiful, it's cold." I complain and he bursts out a laugh.
"Of course, it's cold -- it's snow. But you will have on proper gear and won't feel it. You said you trust me, right?" Reluctantly I nod. I trust him -- I just don't trust a mountain of snow.
Our landing is smooth. We make a quick stop in the airport and purchase a sweatshirt and pants including socks and underwear. I change in the ambassador suite which are private rooms with showers and a tiny kitchen. They're for what's known as diamond members. The rich and the famous like Tae. I had no idea this existed being one of the 99% of the minions who don't share this privilege. I can't wait to tell Sasha about this. She'll cuss up a storm and will rant about the fuckin privileged few. Although, I kind of like sharing in those privileges: Tae's loft, where he lives, and I might be on my way to prison if not for his influence. What's interesting is that Tae's mother didn't expose her children to wealth. It was a quiet, simple, and safe life. Tae is totally self-made, and I respect that. It's 5:00 am US mountain time. Our plan is to shower and sleep for a few hours. However, things get heated up in the shower for us and 10 minutes later Tae's banging my ass. Which I love.
After the flight and our sexual workout, we sleep until 9:00 a.m.. Tae's sister is not expecting Tae until around 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We dress and go for a meal. We'll be staying with Tae's sister's family.
As our rented car pulls in the long driveway, I gasp at the sight of the house. It's huge and surrounded by big plots of land on all sides. It's quite secluded. My hands shake with excitement as we pull in front of this magnificent home.
Tae never told me much about his sister and I didn't push. However, he did say that she'd never been close to their father. She blames him for their mother's early death. A heart attack she believes that the stress of his lifestyle and her constant worry about her children brought on the decline of her health.
