Ch 3

(Yanan's Pov)

Slowly waking up I look around in confusion when I suddenly hear a knock on my door. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I carefully set Orion aside before getting up and head to the door opening it to see Kit. "Hey sorry did I wake you?" I blink a little confused about why he's here. "Yeah but it's okay. What are you doing here?" He smiles and holds up a bag of food. "Changgu said most of your food was randomly gone so I thought I'd bring you something to eat and some snacks." I tilt my head a little warily. "Weren't you supposed to go out drinking with the others?" He shrugs. "I figured I'd let the others have their bonding time and check to see how you're doing." I immediately put on a fake smile. "I'm doing fine but thanks for checking and bringing over food and everything." He smiles brightly at me his tail wagging a little. "Can I come in?" I nod and move aside to let him in he stepping past me when he suddenly stops in his tracks and sniffs the air before growling. Immediately feeling confused and concerned I move to his side. "Whoa what's wrong?" He hands the bags over to me before storming over to the couch I seeing him stop in front of Orion. "Oh that's my new cat Orion." He growls dangerously staring at the cat and practically barks at him. "Shift. I know you can." Giving him a confused look I step forward. "Kit what are you talking about?" He moves closer to the cat who backs up against the couch and hisses. "This isn't a regular cat Yanan. He's a hybrid. I can smell him." Blinking I immediately frown. "Are you sure you're not just mistaken?" He gives me a slight look before turning back to the cat. "Shift or I'll shift and eat you." There's silence for a moment before suddenly the cat turns into a pale dark haired boy with silver eyes only the cat ears and tail staying. My eyes widen and I gape in complete shock a smug look crossing Kit's face. "Oh wipe the smug look off your face wolfie. You ruined my plan and now I'll probably be back on the streets." He glares at Kit angrily and Kit gives him a stern look. "You shouldn't trick people into taking you in. How do you expect to eat and stuff without eventually being caught?" He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest. "I was going to deal with that when it came up." Still a little shocked I remember the doorbell being frantically rung when I discovered him. "So you were the one ringing the doorbell." He nods looking sheepish. "I was cold, hungry and desperate so I picked a random apartment and rang the doorbell." I frown slightly observing him for a second before it registers in my head that he isn't wearing clothes so I quickly look away blushing. "I'll uh I'll go get you something to wear so we can talk." I quickly run from the room grabbing one of my hoodies and some shorts then rush back to the living room when I hear arguing between the two hybrids. "Here." I hand the clothes over to the cat hybrid before looking away to give him privacy missing the way his face lights up and he smells the clothes happily before putting them on. "Alright I'm decent." I turn back around and can't help the small smile that crosses my face when I see how small he looks in my clothes. Quickly snapping out of it I clear my throat. "So what's your name?" He shifts a little before answering shyly. "Angus Lee." I nod and go to say something when Kit cuts me off. "You're seriously not kicking him out? He could be dangerous Yanan." Angus gives him a slight look and I sigh. "Can you please let me talk to him? I'll discuss this with you tomorrow." He gives me a look of disbelief and goes to protest when I motion towards the door. "Please Kit." He sighs but storms out the door I wincing when it slams shut. "So I'm guessing he's the guy you fell for that's with someone else?" I turn to look at him but decide to be honest. "Yeah. That's him." He hums before changing the subject. "What's going to happen to me?" I frown a little before taking a seat beside him on the couch. "I don't know. Why were you pretending to be a normal cat?" He lowers his head pitifully. "I don't have anywhere to go. My halmeoni died a few months ago and I used up all the money I got paying off medical bills and ended up homeless. It's easier living as a cat because you get treated better and people don't try and take advantage of you." I frown feeling sorry for him and let out a sigh. "We have a spare bedroom that you can use. But I expect you to either get a job or help out around here for food and staying here." His eyes light up and he gives me a bright smile. "Thank you so much!" I smile softly at him. "You're welcome. Now how about we eat some of the food Kit brought?" He smiles and nods I getting up and grab the food from the floor heading to the kitchen to get plates I distributing the food out between us. I turn to tell Angus that it's ready when I see him already behind me it startling me for a moment. He gives a sheepish smile. "Sorry." I let out a breath. "It's okay. Here's your food." He takes the plate and takes a seat at the table I sitting beside him we chatting a little bit as we eat talking about our lives and interests until it gets late. "I should probably show you the room you'll be staying in." He nods and gets up I leading him to the room across from mine and open the door. "Get some rest. If you need me I'll be across the hall." He nods and gives me a little smile. "Thanks. Goodnight Yanan." I nod wishing him goodnight before heading to my room laying down and immediately go over the day in my head until I finally fall asleep.
