Enid's POV

Wednesday let me stay over for a few night because we had work together and the shifts were kind of awkward between us like we remembered the distance and heart ache.

But as soon as we got back to the apartment we were all over each other with affection and snuggles. No kissing or anything more, that would still take some time.

"We need to figure out Avery's history and who her family members were and I have a plan" Wednesday said to me one night while watering Addams the succulent.

"Do we really need to? I mean if your mother explained it then it's not important finding out who was what" I said back. She was quiet and looked at me with a weird expression.

"I just want to know" she grumbled and sat down on the bed. "So she never mentioned anything about her grandparents or other family members?"

I shook my head and thought for a moment. "Her dad did keep photo albums and old journals from family way back when on his side now that I think about it, but it would be in his office in the house and there's no way to just walk in and grab them."

She gave me a devilish grin and proudly said "our first heist, what a wonderful idea."

"Wednesday, no. Bad Wednesday." The argument was futile and I tried to call Morticia to tell her to stop but forgetting how strange her family was, Morticia seemed very excited over the phone and wanted to hear all about the plan.

After I hung up I threw my hands up in the air and yelled "Fine!! You win we're going to do this. So what's the plan?"

"Ok so Avery's mom is a teacher right? Tomorrow she'll be at work anywhere from 8-3 so if we go at noon I can sneak in and grab the journals and such" she said proud of herself.

"So what do I do?" I asked. She opened the side of her mouth and looked away. "Im sorry but you're not exactly cut out to do something sneaky."

I scoffed at her, extremely offended, and crossed my arms while she said "you'll be the getaway car so I can leave as soon as possible."

Wednesday's POV

Enid refused to be affectionate with me the rest of the night which was annoying but I didn't mind much since I was eager to get the heist going the next day.

We drove to Avery's house and I got out of the car, sneaking to the fence of the backyard and climbing my way over. There was a back window that was supposedly the one in her dad's office.

The window was easier to crack open than I thought it would be and I crept inside the office which was a complete disaster.

Folders overfilled with papers on the desk, dusty books that weren't even lined up on the bookshelf, desk drawers open.. what did this guy even do for work?

I had no time to waste to try and find what I needed amongst all this crap so I started by opening drawers and combing through them. I heard a plate clatter against something at the front of the house.

Like somebody was eating.

I froze in place waiting to hear any more noises and that's when I heard the tippy taps of a dog and turned to see a small white chihuahua with its neck hair straight on end.

It growled at me and I heard "Henry what's the matter?" In the distance. I quickly looked around for any place to hide and my only option was a standing wooden cabinet with suits hung up.

I dashed in and closed the doors in front of me and quickly texted my mother asking her what to do. I could NOT let Enid get involved in this, she's not sneaky and a horrible liar.

My mother didn't answer and I could feel my palms starting to get sweaty while I waited for the dog to leave.

Enid's POV

Waiting in the car was boring but I lit up as soon as I saw Morticia was calling. "Hey Mrs.Addams what's up?"

"Listen dear, Wednesday is stuck inside of that wench's house because it turns out someone is home and a dog is giving up her position."

I gasped and looked over at the house but couldn't see anything. I could hear Gomez in the back saying I've never been so proud of my little scorpion and Pugsley yelling in excitement, does she get to go to jail again?!

"Thank you for telling me, I have to go now" I rushed the words out and hung up. I dashed over to Avery's doorstep and knocked very loudly.

The locks in the door turned and clicked and Avery's mom stood there in pajama pants and a mug of tea in her hand. "Enid?"

"Hi Lauretta, I wanted to talk to you.. you know it's been a while" I said fumbling over my words a little bit and trying to peak behind her.

She gave me a smile and relaxed her shoulders. "Why didn't you give me a call? Of course we can talk come inside" she said ushering me into the living room.

"Oh you know.. haha.. I was just in the neighborhood and Avery had told me about Paul and it's just awful what happened to him."

We sat down on the couch and she nodded somberly. "Yes it's been really hard trying to grieve someone so fantastic, I mean we were married for 23 years and he was the first man I could ever trust."

She teared up but straightened herself out. "Shall I get you some tea?" I took her hand to keep her sitting down and said no. We talked for a few minutes and I grew impatient.

"Is it ok if I see his office? I'd like to get some closure, I know it may seem weird but he was so important to me."

"Of course.. take all the time you need but afterwards we should talk about you and Avery, I know you two have been having little hangouts recently" she gave me a wink and turned the tv on and fully relaxed into the couch.

I hurriedly walked over to the office and closed the door. "Psst.. Weds.." The only sound made was a small knock from inside the cabinet and as soon as I opened it she fell out onto the floor.

"Everything ok in there?" Lauretta asked. "Yes Mrs.Huntsman I just tripped." I helped wednesday up and without a word we quickly scoured the room for anything regarding the journals.

A minute later she tapped my shoulder and showed me a box labeled "Family History" and we did a little happy dance. She took it along with her outside of the window and before I knew it she was out of sight.

I walked out of the room to Avery's mom. "Thank you for letting me in there it's hard to say goodbye but I can only imagine what you're going through. Anyways I really have to go now but it was lovely seeing you again."

"Are you and my daughter dating again?" She cut me off. I stood in my tracks and turned to her. "Come sit down and tell me what's been happening."

My brain felt like it became a little empty, I was in shock with her straightforwardness.

I obediently took my place next to her and the words just flowed out of me. "We met at the antique shop and she told me about Paul, so we had lunch and then we went to her car. She kissed me and-"

I stopped the uncontrollable rambling and I became fully aware of my thoughts again. I thought of Wednesday. She gave me a small squint and looked displeased and lifted her chin up.

"I see. It was nice seeing you Enid" she said and motioned for me to leave.
