𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐓 and lifting weights on the bench. I sat the bar down and sat up, wiping the sweat off my face. Even after trying to distract myself from her, it made me think about her even more. 'Fuck I need to see her.'
Just as I was about to go on the treadmill, Toby came in, searching for me. He looked awfully happy, too happy... "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I asked. His happiness was creeping me out. "First of all, fuck you... secondly, I just talked to Azara and-"
"Where is she?" I stood up, ready to beat the information out of him if I had to. "Woah now, calm down big guy," he chuckled. "She passed me in the hall and if you're quick enough, you might catch her coming back from the cafeteria." He said as he wandered around the gym.
I stood frozen in place, not sure if I should go after her.
"Why are you still here? Are you not going to go find her?" He asked with wide eyes. "I don't think it'll be a good idea." I opened my water bottle and downed the liquid, feeling thirsty all of the sudden.
"What the fuck do you mean?!" He took a deep breath and then smiled. "Look man, I didn't ask her to go to the cafeteria for you to stand here and act like a wuss. If you don't go after her or at least try to make things right, she'll really start to think you don't care."
I sighed, knowing he was right, "Fi-"
"Guys! Guys!" We both looked over to Cody who had panic all over his face. "What's wrong babe?" Toby was quick to go to Cody's side. "Shits going down on the field. Like crazy shit." We ran to the cafeteria and out to the field.
When Cody said shit was going on, I never imagined this. A wolf was down and two others were standing off. One I knew all too well to be Scarlett. She was one of the few female shifters in the pack.
But the other one. Oh, the other one- that was Azara. That was my mate. Her scent was stronger and much more alluring than when I first smelt it. Her wolf was big and scary, strong, powerful- not to mention beautiful!
Though, in a blink of an eye, she combusted into flames. "What the fuck!" Cody exclaimed, gripping at the roots of his hair.
We watched in complete and utter shock as Azara rushed towards Scarlett—her flames whipping in the wind. As soon as she knocked her down, all you could hear were bones cracking, whining and yelping, flesh tearing...
