What Happened

part 7: stupidity and danger

In the morning quin had woken up to will asleep on the chair and percy walking in she hadn't moved much in her sleep she never did, it was directly after breakfast but percy didn't care he was concerned about his sister, he walked in and looked at quin, she looked at him "morning" she said still a bit sleepy percy noticed she wasn't moving and looked anxious too do so "did anything happen last night?" He asked not just because of that but also because he had seen kody walking around grumbling about something, he had heard some of it and by what he was saying something happened "i- how did you-" she started "because kody hasn't been his usual egotistical self" just then Nico came in to see will passed out on the chair and rolled his eyes then shook will awake "I told you to get actual sleep will" he said after will woke up and wills defense was "something happened so I wanted quin to feel safe the rest of the night!" And Nico raised an eyebrow "what exactly happened?" He said and crossed him arms, will looked at quin "can I tell them?" And she nodded "yeah" will proceeded to tell them what he walked in on and that the cut was bad also why he had to clean and bandage it manually after will was done explaining percy looked pissed off "why does he keep thinking he can get away with this shit" percy said angrily, he was practically seething "because he did and he has for a long time" quin stated sinply, she was tired of them talking about how stupid kody was and not doing anything about it "quin-" will started but percy interrupted him "how long?" He asked "well- it started at the beginning of last summer-" she said "LAST SUMMER!?" Percy said "holy shit" Nico mumbled "i-" will started but couldn't find words percy saw quin practically flinch when he yelled and his expression softened ever so slightly "wh-why didn't you tell me? You know you can trust me...right?" he sounded sad and disappointed in himself, why didn't his sister tell him? Did she not trust him? Was she scared of what he was going to do? A bunch of questions went through his brain "because kody is scary you guys don't understand" Percy's expression changed from sadness to anger "well I'm scarier" he said and practically stormed out will sighed and turned to quin "go find your brother before he kills someone" Nico chimed in "I think he should" he said and shrugged and will turned "so do I but percy shouldn't get in trouble over kodys stupidity" he said before removing quins IV and helping her up quin was a little nervous but she wanted to ask if someone could go with her so kody didn't try anything because sometimes kody tried things mid day he would drag her somewhere nobody was but it felt stupid will already decked him so why bother asking for more  she hesitated to leave before will asked "what's up? I said you could go I thought after the fight you put up you would walk out as fast as you could" will sort of knew why she was hesitant but he wanted her to vocalize it he knew she had a hard time standing up for herself so he wanted to help "well, it's just- can Nico come with me... Just until I find  percy" she felt dumb asking "no I'm gonna risk kody doing something to you" he started sarcastically and will gave him a look like 'not the time' and Nico said "yes I'll go with you" quin let go of a small bit of breath she hadn't realized she was holding and she knew he would say yes but a small part of her was still anxious "thank you" she said  and Nico gave a nod "no problem,now let's go" he said and started walking making sure quin was following, she was once they got out of the infirmary quin started instantly looking around for her brother after a couple of minutes of walking around she found him storming somewhere, probably looking for kody "percy!" She called and he turned around his face softened when he saw her but you could tell he had a stone cold scowl on before "quin, go hang out with Nico for a bit I need to do something"  he said and quin frowned "you can't do anything stupid because someone else is stupid" she said and he huffed and walked closer to quin "he hurt you, I can't let him hurt you again and what if he hurts someone else?" He said and quin responded "you can't get in trouble for someone else's stupidity" she said and Percy sighed "but he cant-" Percy started but kody walked up "I can't what hm?"
