CHAPTER 29 -

ROSELYN.

"What do you mean, why?" He seemed confused by my question. "Why shouldn't I be nice to you?"
He removed his hands from my cheek but still stayed very close to me.
"No one is just nice." I explained quietly.
"Rose, what's going on? Something's wrong, I can see that - clearly."
Erling seemed concerned when he looked me directly in the eyes.
Was his worry genuine?

"I don't want to talk about it. Please, Erling."
I sighed, quietly.
"I can help-"

"Please." I interrupted him. I didn't wanna hear all of that. The only thing I wanted, was to forget.
Erling sighed, running his hand through his hair.
"Alright." He gave in.

"We- we should probably go back to school."

"No. Let's stay here and just chill."
He gestured to the bed behind him.
What exactly did he mean by that?

He seemed to notice my uncertainty.
"I meant, watch a movie or something."

I bit my lip, thinking.

I had three options.

Option one: Go back to school, probably get into detention for being late for the next class.

Option two: Go Home, See Brody and probably get hurt sooner than usual.

Option three: Stay here with Erling, watch a movie and get my mind off things.

Suddenly, the decision seemed easier than ever.

So, I accepted his proposal.
"Okay."

The corners of his mouth quickly turned into a smile.
"Great." He mumbled through his smile.  He took off his heavy jacket and walked to the bed.
Now, his hoodie was shown, which had the words "Love" printed.

Erling got comfy on the bed and leaned against the bed backrest while tapping some bottoms on the remote.
Slowly, I walked up to the bed and took a seat on the other side of the bed.
A little awkwardly, I played with my fingers.

Erling turned his head to me.
"Feel at home."

No, I didn't want to feel at home.
Because home wasn't like a normal home to me.
It was horror, fear, pain.
I didn't want to feel like home.
I wanted to leave home.

But, I tried not to think about it.
So, I got a little more comfortable on the bed and leaned against the bed backrest.
"How bout' that movie?"
Erling gestured to the tv.
I looked to the tv, where Erling had picked an action-comedy movie.
To be honest, I didn't really care much about the movie.
All I wanted was to be away from Brody and school.
And Erling gave me that opportunity without asking too many questions.
I nodded, silently.

He started the movie and throughout the movie I tried to not think about anything else but that movie.

I blinked a few times and then completely opened my eyes. A little confused, I looked around until I noticed, it was dark outside.
Plus, I wasn't in my room.
To be more precise: I wasn't even in my house.
I was still at Erling's.
In his bed.
I looked to my right where I found a sleeping Erling laying next to me.
He was close, not too close, but closer than before.
When I looked down at me, I saw a fluffy blanket spread over my body.
Erling must've put it on me.
That thought kind of made me smile.
