Yo! So, we've made some minor changes to the previous chapters. For those who have read up to now, don't worry; they don't affect the story too much.
So, enjoy the chapter~!

Shiori POV

I was actually looking forward to this, mainly because I get to train with Sasori and Konan. Konan was by far my favourite Akatsuki member, she didn't seem as cold and heartless as the rest of the "gang". Plus she was the only girl and I felt sorry for her having to cope with all the boys. Having a brother back in 'our' world, I sort of understood how she must feel. Only she had that nine times over! Must be so annoying...

As I was saying, I was looking forward to training. I would finally get to see if I am any good at chakra control! I knew that this was very important if I ever wanted to become a medical ninja. And I very much did.

That's also a reason I was lucky to be training with Sasori, even though I didn't like him much, and thought he was kinda creepy. Mayumi wouldn't like hearing that... Apparently she 'idolised' him. Yeah, there was probably something deeper going on there.

I hoped that Sasori could teach me about poisons and chakra strings. I had always found poisons interesting as I was planning on studying medicine and toxicology at university. University was sort of out of the question now though.

Sasori signalled and I followed him and Konan through the corridors and out into the fresh air. A soft breeze ruffled my long blue hair as we walked and I breathed deeply to rid my airways of the stuffy smell that had been inside. I decided that I would try and convince the Akatsuki to open their windows more. However, that would have to wait.

After a short while we came to a large field. At the far end, a line of trees begun, gradually becoming thicker until you would call it a forest. A river flowed silently past on the right, glimmering in the sunlight.

Sasori and Konan stopped in the middle of the field, turning around to face me.

"First things first, Shiori. We'll start with some basics of chakra, " said Konan. She paused before asking me if I knew anything about how to focus it. I shook my head in reply.

She sighed, placing her hands on her hips. "Well let's get started then!"

**Time Skip**

I sat in the long green grass, brushing a strand of blue hair out of my face. A large scroll was rolled out in front of me, with a diagram of the human body on it. Sasori was giving me a detailed lecture on the anatomy of the human body, some of the most vital organs and how they were affected by different poisons. I listened intently, not wanting to miss a single word.

A few hours earlier Konan had begun with teaching me the basics of chakra. Firstly, she showed me the hand sign for focusing chakra, and asked me to to try and focus it into one particular point of my body. I copied the hand sign carefully, and concentrated hard at my chosen focusing point. I was surprised when I managed it at first try! After a few tries I felt pretty confident, so Konan set up a task for me; climbing trees without using my hands. This was definitely more difficult, since I had to coordinate my movements as well as concentrate on focusing my chakra to the soles of my feet. Konan's explanation was bare and unhelpful, basically just:

"Now climb that tree. Don't use your hands."

Luckily for me I already knew how to do this, as I had watched the part in the Naruto series where he and Sasuke learn this exercise long ago. Otherwise I would have looked like an idiot.

The first time I tried, of course I failed. I fell right back down on my behind because I hadn't focused enough chakra to the soles of my feet. That hurt.
