The two sat at the park bench, watching the leaves fall off the tree's. One wore a simple homemaker's outfit, the other, a striped shirt and jeans. That one was scowling at the leaves.

"What's the point of having leaves if all they do is fall?!" He said, asking his partner.

"Hah...Must we have this discussion again, Alice? 'Tis a simple cycle of life. Such as hair growing out again."

Alice frowned at the falling leaves, "At least, why are they not striped?!"

The two walked hand in hand back to there house. A simple house, not striped, to Alice's disappointment.

"Hmph! This weather is screwing with my complexion....." Alice complained.

Kai laughed, used to his partner's complaining.

"Let us do something to take your mind off of this, yes? Shall we make a cake?"

"Mwahahahaha...! We shall! But on one condition..."

"It must be striped, yes?" Kai laughed, knowing that is what he would say.

"Gasp....How did you know?!? DId you read my mind?!!!?" Alice grabbed Kai and questioned him. Kai just laughed happily, knowing that his partner had an odd sense of humor. Or maybe it wasn't humor, and he's serious... Kai thought as Alice let him go.

"So, my beloved, what do we need to make a cake? A striped one, pick and yellow, of course!"

"Yes...yes...I know. Get the flour, sugar, food dye, and baking powder, along with salt and vanilla."

He went to the cupboard, and got them out.

"I shall receive the butter, eggs, and milk...Hah...I have an idea. What do you think of making a strawberry and lemon cake?" Kai questioned, looking through the fridge.

"Yes! They go well together, like any color and stripes!" Alice smiled, finding food dye to make the color more vibrant. They proceeded with the recipe.

"Mwahahaha...I shall assist of course, but I would like to do the honors of licking the spoon."

They looked each other in the eye, and burst out laughing. Alice was so childlike at times, and Kai found it adorable and hilarious. Kai then sighed.

"Yes, Alice, you can. But only if I get to try the cake first."

Alice gasped at this, then growled.

"Grrr......Y-you may lick the spoon...."

Alice didn't want to give up the first bite.

"Very well then, Mr.Stripey." Kai teased

"OY!"

Alice tried to chase him, but Kai didn't allow it, with him being busy at the mixer, mixing the batter for the cake they both anticipated.

"Dearheart, get be another bowl, and the food dye....IF you wish to have bright colors....I expected as much." He said as Alice grabbed the dye and grinned, threatening to put it on Kai's hair.

"Don't. You. Dare. Maybe I'll just make the cake plain, after all....What a shame" Kai shook his head, and Alice laughed.

"Well....What do we do now, Kai? It's cooking."

"Most typically, we would wait. Or clean up. We....proceed to make...Quite the mess, if I do say so myself..."

'Mess' seemed like an understatement. There was batter on the walls, where Alice had flung it when he tried (poorly) to get the better into the pan. THe dishes were many as well.

"Nah. We should hangout. Those can be saved for later."

"...Agreed"

Alice and Kai walked to the couch, and sat down.

"You have food dye on your hands."

"You have batter on your cheek." Alice brushed it off of him.

"I would return the loving gesture...but food dye does not come off so easily."

"Wait...what?!?! It stays on forever?! NO!!!" Alice started to freak out, while Kai smiled gently.

"Calm down...it will come off soon enough, but it will need washing...Speaking of which, let us get to the dishes while they are still easy to clean"

"Fine!" Alice grumbled, walking to the kitchen, where the pleasant aroma of strawberry and lemon drifted through the kitchen.

"mmm...that smells amazing! I can't believe we made that!!!"

"It's to be expected with someone as skilled as me." Kai said, smug.

The duo worked to clean up the mess. Halfway through, the cake was done. Alice attempted to take it out of the over with his bare hands, If the cake can handle it I can too!, and everything was done, besides the tasting of the cake.

"Well then, shall we eat, my love?"

"Yes! I'm so excited, Kai!"

The two cut the cake, and the different layers of pink and yellow looked entrancing. Alice looked at it, while Kai served him a piece.

"Like it , dear?"

"I...hate it. It's nasty."

"..."

"Just joking, babe! I love it so much! And you too, I guess...I do, I do!" He shouted after Kai raised a pan to hit him. They embraced each other, and kissed.
