TAKING CHANCES

CHAPTER 13

First time na natameme ang bestfriend kong si Phoebe. Parang takot siya na ewan?

Hinampas ko siya with slight force at natauhan naman siya. Good for her. I don't wat her like that.

"Now, what?"

"Promise me first na hindi ka magagalit?" Bumalik na ang self confidence ni Phoebe, kitang kita sa pananalita niya.

"Why would I be? What is it?" What's with her? Kinakalikot niya ang kamay niya na arang iniisip kung sasabihin ba o hindi. Of course sasabihin niya sakin yan.

"Cut the suspense and spill it out Phoebe."

"I think I like Chill." What?! Medyo kalma na ang pagkasabi niya nun.

"I thought your relationship with him was just a fling. How come?!" I exaggeratedly scolded at her. I can feel that she's a bit afraid. She know me the best because we're best friends lalo na kung kailan ako totoong galit o hindi.

"I just suddenly felt jealous when you're always with him, now that he became sweet towards you. Sorry Kleigh, I hope you would not get threatened." How about our friendship? Will she ruin it for the sake of her feelings!?

"Threatened? Why woul I be? I'm too confident when it comes to Chill." Maangas na sabi ko. Aba? "So, are you planning for a game?" Nakangiting hamon ko kay Phoebe.

"Game? Sure. What is it. Make sure it's fun." Nakangiting sabi naman ni Phoebe. I know we couldn't ruin our friendship just for a boy.

"Wait, I just thought na this is the first time I'm sharing you something except for food. And especially, CHILL. Okay, eto na, I'll continue doing blandishments on Chill. Do you think you can do what I'm doing too? I mean, magpapansin kay Chill. I want a fair game Phoebe."

"Nu-uh. Nagawa ko na to dati kaya no worries for me. Buti naman at okay lang sayo na magkagusto ako kay Chill. Aren't you threatened? Nakuha ko na siya dati, hindi imposibleng mangyari din yun ngayon."

"I'm confident enough of myself so I don't feel threatened. Atleast, now I know your feeling for him, I'm challenged. Really. Just be fair."

"Fair, you're saying. Nakakatuwa ka Kleigh. Fine. Gotta go." We waved our goodbyes to each other as if nothing happened.

Dumiretso na ako sa parking lot at dumiretso sas naka park na kotse ni Chill. Nakita niya ako agad kaya lumabas na siya agad at pinagbuksan ako. Napangiti nalang ako. Pumasok na din siya at nagsimula nang mag drive.

"So, what are your plans for our trip tomorrow?"

"It's my business so just sit there and wait where I will take you."

"Any clues?" I curiously asked.

"Just like me." Hindi na ko umimik. Hihintayin ko nalang bukas para naman surprise.

While driving, kinuha ko ang kamay ni Chill na malapit sa akin at hinawakan iyon. Hindi niya naman binawi so that means he's letting me do it. He's hand is so hot. Bakit ganoon? How can he be so hot when his attitude is so Cold?

Nakarating kami sa bahay safely. I gave him a peck on his cheeks at umalis na papuntang bahay. Nagbihis na ako into sleeping clothes. Inayos ko na ang mga gamit ko for tomorrow, pagkatapos ay bumaba na for dinner. Sobrang tagal kong nag-ayos na gamit kayo halos 7:30 na ko nakababa at dinner na.

While waiting for lola Nena and kuya JR for dinner, tinawagan ko muna si mom para magpaalam para bukas.

"Mom, we'll go out-of-town tomorrow. Magrerelax lang after ng stressful exams. Is it okay?"

"Of course baby, it's okay. Who are you with?"

"I'm with Chill."

"Siya lang?" Sabat ni daddy, I guess naka loudspeaker.

"Yes dad."

"Okay, I trust you anak, don't do anything wrong. Is that clear?"

"Dad naman!"

"Sige anak, goodluck for tomorrow! Bye." Then mom hung up.

Sakto namang ready na ang dinner kaya kumain na kami. I talk less while eating dahil pagod ako at nirereserve ko ang energy ko para bukas. Umakyat na ako ng kwarto at natulog.
