On Saturday, Izuku and Shinso picked up their new gear from Hatsume so they could test it in senario training. She was very enthusiastic about her babies being field tested.
All Might was the one overseeing the class today, which put Izuku on edge. Everyone left the locker rooms and headed to ground beta. Most were excited to fight in their costumes for the first time.
Before he started instructing, All Might pulled a pack of note cards from his pocket. "Today, we will be doing battle trials. You will pull a letter from this box and whoever has the same letter will be your teammate." He passed the box around and everyone pulled out a strip of paper.
Izuku pulled out a B. Shinso pulled out an E. Izuku only hoped that he wasn't paired with or against Bakugo.
"What ever letters I pull will go against eachother in the first trial. You will have 10 minutes to talk if you are the heroes while the villains will have 10 minutes to place the bomb in the building." All Might searched in the box before pulling out a paper.
"Team C will be the first hero group." He dug around again. "Team F will be the first villain group."
The two teams found their partners. All Might handed the villain team the fake bomb. "Once the match starts, a 20 minute timer will start counting. If the heroes have not touched the bomb or captured all the villains, the villains win."
The two teams nodded. All Might turned to the rest of the group. "Follow me to the viewing station."
Once they made it the the viewing room, the match was almost about to start. On Team C was Tsuyu and a boy with a bird head named Tokoyami. On Team F was a boy named Kaminari and a pink skinned girl named Mina.
When the match started, Tsuyu started climbing the outside of the building while Tokoyami entered from the bottom. Kaminari started heading towards the lower levels. Mina stayed with the bomb on the fifth floor.
As the match played out, Kaminari overloaded the lights and the cameras for an entire floor and Tokoyami was the one to call in the capture. Tsuyu got to the bomb by hiding herself with camoflage and sneaking past Mina.
The match ended and both teams headed back to the observation room. The next teams were drawn. Team E, Shinso and Todoroki, were the heros and team G, Koda and Jiro, were the villains.
The match didn't last long. On the buzzer, Todoroki iced the entire building. Izuku could sense Shinso's frustration through the screen. Once he was back in the observation room, he stomped over to Izuku's corner and sat down with a huff.
"Least communicative person to exist." Was all he said before falling silent. He would probably continue his grievances once they weren't in class.
A couple more matches passed, and Izuku's despair only grew until it was finally his turn. He was paired with Uraraka against Iida......and Bakugo.
Izuku was really starting to believe that higher powers didn't exist, and if they did, they hated him with a passion.
He met with Uraraka at the bottom of the building.
"Hey!" She said, bouncing up and down.
"Hi!" He said back, actually shaking in genuine fear.
She gave him a concerned look once he got close enough and he waved her off.
"I have the beginnings of a plan if you want to hear it." She nodded so he continued. "I think you should use your quirk to start at the upper levels while I go through the bottom... Bakugo is going to head straight for me, so you shouldn't have to worry about him."
