That long day finally ended. All of Taehyung's baggage was loaded into Seokjin's car trunk and back seat. They were off to go home to Grandpa Kim's house with a wide victory grin on Taehyung's face. Seokjin didn't say much though, neither looked angry nor happy. Just flat.
But that was on the surface. Deep inside, a raging battle happened. What should he do, what should he say, how should he act around Kim Taehyung at home? Did he have to set certain rules? But Kim Taehyung definitely had a tendency to break the rules and cross some boundaries anyway just to test the water.
"Make yourself at home." Seokjin opened the door to the house and helped Taehyung by dragging one of his baggage.
"Oh wow, when was the last time I came here?" Taehyung glanced around the house. He didn't visit often. His father often took his grandparents to Seoul instead for every holiday. But his grandparents' hearts were always with Magnolia.
"You can use the main bedroom at the end of the left hall. It was your grandpa's and had been left empty since he moved to Seoul."
"Okay."
"A maid comes once a week on Monday morning to clean the house, do the laundry, you know, all the basics. On a daily basis, I do things myself."
"Okay. I can cook and clean."
"Good, 'cause I won't expect you to be idle, either. I'm not your room service here."
"Oh, it's okay. I'll be the one to give you bedroom service." Kim Taehyung was born a flirt and that answer slid through his mouth so naturally.
"M—-Mr. Kim....!"
"Yes, Baby?"
Seokjin's heart skipped a beat. He froze. His breath was ragged. He forgot what he was going to say and couldn't continue. So he just walked away. "I'll be in my room!"
"Wait, is that an invitation or just an informa—-"
BAM!!
A loud sound of a slammed door answered Taehyung's question. He groaned. He was terribly frustrated. But oh well, Seokjin let him stay here, and that was a big bold step for Jin. Taehyung was progressing forward.
He dragged his heavy suitcases into the main bedroom, then scanned his surroundings. Everything was neat and tidy. He bet it was just exactly like when his grandpa left it. Well preserved. Untouched.
After rummaging through the closet to find a bed sheet and a duvet, Taehyung spent some time unpacking his suitcase and took a warm invigorating shower. Then, he went to the kitchen and found Seokjin had already cooked dinner for both of them.
There was this feeling of warmth, comfort, calm, peace, contentment... all bursting in Taehyung's heart as he looked at Seokjin preparing hearty meals for two. "Jin..." He couldn't help himself and pulled Seokjin into his embrace. "Don't say anything, please..." He whispered hoarsely. His hands engulfed the other, fingers in Jin's soft hair. His face snuggled into the crook of Jin's neck... "Just a minute..." He closed his eyes. Relished Seokjin's warmth, his sweet scent, his soft skin under Taehyung's fingertips... Everything...
Kim Taehyung could feel himself falling....

The news surely spread like a wildfire in the hotel. The exact narrative, however, varied depending on how gossipy the gossipers were. Chef Min Yoongi for example. He just simply brushed off the idea of Jin dating Kim Taehyung. Taehyung pursued Jin? Yeah, sure. Jin and him dating and living together? No, no. Friends with benefits? Na-ah!
Jung Hoseok on the other hand, wished Jin would want to try dating Kim Taehyung, especially now that they were living together. He hoped that would increase the opportunity. Seokjin deserved someone who loved and took care of him, because throughout his life, he was the one who always loved and took care of others selflessly. Just take a look at how he took care of the late Kim Ha-joon... Or his own ex, for that matter.
For the record, Jung Hoseok hated Seokjin's ex! Min Yoongi too. Even after Seokjin clarified everything that had happened. They were just doing what good best friends did: being overprotective of him.
So as Seokjin inspected the restaurant that Friday morning, Jung Hoseok tailed Seokjin and asked, "I heard you live together with Kim Taehyung, now?" He grinned full of mischief.
"Hobi, please rephrase your words, otherwise people will get the wrong idea."
"People already got the wrong idea." He shrugged.
"Jin! Jin!" Yoongi gave him a signal from the kitchen door to approach. "We need to talk! At my house tonight!"
"About what?!"
"About your love life. This is an intervention. Hobi, you're in too!"
"Yes! I love intervention!" Hoseok cheered.
"I'm not a child!" Seokjin protested.
"Shut up or I'll drag you myself after work hours ended!" Yoongi threatened.
