Turns out 'out-sight-out-of-mind' was a lot harder than the movies admitted to.

Throughout the whole day, Poppy's mind has been somewhere less ideal. Whether her mind was trying to be occupied, it would always go back to her phone and those texts. Those fricken texts. It didn't matter what she was doing: The dishes, the laundry, watching some tv, anything at all to keep her busy. She couldn't prevent herself from glancing sideways every mintue.

She'd even kept her phone in a drawer hoping that those urges are shut away, but no luck.

The sun's red ray lit up the sky above the horizon which shone through the balcony doors of her room. Ending up in her bed, Poppy stared at the tv; her junk food littered around her in a heap of chips and oreos.

It was just some My Little Pony episode, but not just any episode. It's the one with the wedding special of course. This episode smacks, she hummed happily.

"Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake," sang Candance and Twilight as they danced, celebrating their friendship. Poppy's brows furrowed and rolled her eyes

She threw her bag of chips with a sour note in her tone. "Lies!"

Poppy sighed heavily before realizing she threw her only source of sustenance at the tv. Her body sunk further into the bed. "Damn you," she mumbled.

A knock was heard as it was followed by her brother decked out in his blue scrubs. "You good, dude?"

"Yeah, I'm good." Kai peered over at the tv and over to the girl. Going over to the tv, he picked up the bag of chips she had thrown. His face scrunched in confusion. "Did you just throw your hot cheetos at the tv?"

Poppy pointed accussationally at the screen. "It was spreading lies! Lies I tell you! I had to revolt!" Snickering, he nodded over to Poppy's 'Save the Chubby Mermaids' posted on the wall.

"I get that, but I thought you were a peaceful protestor. What would the manatees say if they saw you like this?"

She proudly smiled. "They would revolt by my side as we ride into battle with me leading the charge of course." Kai chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling. That was a telltale sign of him joking around.

He turned towards the show. "So what's your beef with twilight sparkle?"

She frowned at him. "It her that has beef with me. They're spreading lies about friendship and it's a total scam. Hell, it's faker than Rose Cameron's boob-job."

"Move your ass. You're taking up all the space in the bed." Scooting over he sat next to her, his body sinking the bed even more than she did. "First off Pops, I'm really sorry about tonight. If I could change plans for you guys I would."

Poppy shrugs, her mouth a slight curve. Even though it made her annoyed to no end, she only knew her brother was doing his best for the family. It was all he ever did. "You're okay, dude. I get it. We can always do it another time."

A quick smile graced his face before turning into one of concern. "Another thing, Pops," spoke Kai, peering over to Poppy. "How can I say this in the nicest way possible without sounding like a douche?" He paused before taking a deep breath, "but you need a life."

She tried to say something to fill the silence. Her mouth opened but the words couldn't find their way out. Poppy continued frowning at him. "That's uncalled for."

Kai sneered. "Poppy you're 16! Not to make you feeling all sad and shit but you're suppose to be out and having fun! Not here with cheeto bags and tv shows." Glancing down at her fingers they began dancing with each other in a nervous tango.
