(Not much to say today, enjoy!)

Eventually, the day the crew are accidentally woken comes and goes. It went surprisingly well, all things considered, better even, if only by a little. Vash only gets nervous.

Vash knows what'll happen when they find the research logs, and all he can do is try to keep Nai confident in humanity despite what little he can do.

Vash feels it when he wakes up that today is the day it happens. His hand is shaky as he combs his brother's hair and all he can do is hope Nai doesn't notice. They sit down for breakfast with Rem and Vash hopes Rem decides not to let them loose to explore. Naturally, she tells them they can explore the wing she's working in today.

Nai cheers and Vash weakly tries to match his energy. There's not much to cheer about when he knows what they'll find.

They enter the med bay lookalike and Vash gets twitchy at the thought of actually reading the logs again. It was a terror skimming through once, and he doesn't know if his heart can handle it a second time knowing what it'll say.

The logs are filed differently this time. They're undoubtedly the very same ones about Tesla, but he can hardly stand the fact that they're reading different ones from before. He's halfway through looking at some hundred and something log when he realizes, stomach churning. He collapses to the floor.

"Vash!" Nai crouches at his side and tries to discern what's wrong, probably feeling just as terrible.

Vash hardly ate that morning, but it didn't stop the photosynthates and water from coming up, sweet and absolutely disgusting on his tongue.

"Vash what's wrong? Vash please!" Nai shook his shoulders and Vash couldn't help but laugh hysterically. A pitched whistle escapes his mouth, one of the ones he heard from some of the particularly miserable plants in his first life, unheard to human ears. Tears drip from his eyes as he slumps in his brother's arms.

He continues to giggle, unable to control himself. "What's wrong?" He quietly repeats, gripping onto his brother like a lifeline. He wants to scream. 'She's Alive,' he thinks violently. Nai flinches in his grip.

Vash doesn't even try to explain, he just shakes in his brother's grip as his vision flickers and his head throbs. It doesn't take long for Vash to pass out.
