(The last update!)

The biggest thing of them all, in the end, is that things are different. His legs getting crumpled like a can, his body missing the boy bits. Even his bounty is lower, though that's likely due to the fact he's more of a myth than a person this time around. Thing is, Vash is standing in Milly's very much not deserted home, a difference he himself caused with the help of vaguely knowing the future at any given time. He stands under the porch of the large home as he watches the many children that live there play in front of it.

He remembers hearing about one of her cousins dying when she was young, and how it spurred her to work in insurance. Milly had a lot of cousins it seemed, some older some younger, fact is, she had cousins and lived in a big house with them.

Thing is, most of her cousins worked while she was young, also while they were young. And one of them took up an ambiguous job with an actual hazard pay. Clearly, anyone could tell where that was going, so Vash stepped in and now he's staying in town a few days and this and that, and now little Milly is going up to him and saying how she'll be a doctor to help his boo-boos and that's /adorable/.

If Vash could save lives /and/ protect good people from more dangerous futures, well, clearly he's doing something right. Empowered, or something, by the fact he can tangibly see a change in the world, he decides visiting a creaky little town in December to check up on their not yet stolen plant would do the other half of the no longer insurance girls some good as well.

Things are going well, Vash thinks.
