"Son, look at me. I am fine. Trust me, I am completely fine." The little one looked at his father who is smiling at him, assuring him that everything is fine when they are clearly standing in the house wrapped in the blanket of flames.
" Son everything is gonna be okay. You're okay. You'll make it out, you have to be alive. Kids are the gift of god my dear, they need to smile. Away from pain. So you my little kid need to smile, always." He shook his head not knowing why this sounds like a good bye .
" Hobi, my dear, close your eyes please." His dad pleaded who was buried deep under the debris of their own house. " Why d-dad??'' he didn't wanted to close his eyes, afraid that the minute his eyelids shut his dad will be taken away far from his reach by the flames to an another world. "Just do it my obedient son. I know you'll always do what I say ", his father's pleading has always been his weakness.
His weakness took the best of him and he did, close his eyes. There was a silence of five minutes beside the petrifying bass of fire set around him. He opens his eyes and he sees the scariest trauma that would be the house of him forever, till his last breath.
His dad's body smashed open by the concrete block big enough to blast open his dad's body and small enough to the boy to see every inch of his father's internals. He realised how strong his dad was, didn't let a single sound in order to show his son that everything was fine.
He felt something cooler over the burning temperature on his leg. He looked down to see his father's intestine wrapped around his leg.
He crawled back when something soft touched his palm. He looked at the source, afraid again, tears hysterically drip down his cheeks. His breath hitches as he discovered that it was his dad's head.
The head was severed from the neck itself but there was something that was stuck in the head of little Hoseok. His dad's familiar smile, it was still there. The red painted smile above his lips. The red on his father's lips complementing the bloody red eyes.
He woke up panting hard. Sitting on his bed with wide eyes. Tears and sweats trickling down his face and his hairs messy. Hoseok look down to see nothing but his dog Dodo licking his leg.
He groaned and looked at Dodo huffing at him. Dodo quickly jumped on Hoseok licking his face. He fell backwards with the impact but didn't ruffle it's hair still annoyed at him. Dodo looks at him with his cute puppy eyes and he gives in with a chuckle placing kisses on it's forehead.
Hoseok stands up and draws his curtains back. He probably had left them open yesterday night by mistake or it must be the mischievous Dodo's deed. He doesn't likes sunshine.
Pulling his sneakers and a baggy black t-shirt tucked under ripped black jeans, he left for the first day of University.
He glanced at his house one more time before hopping onto his bike and smiling at Dodo who was playing with the butterflies in the garden. He doesn't have a huge house but a small almost eighty percent wooden house he found cheap online. He was satisfied with it. It feels more like home, especially with Dodo.
He rode to his university drawing attention of God knows how many females. His jet black hairs waving in air and his baggy tshirt hugging his well built torso with prominent abs structure due to the opposite wind pressure.
He soon reaches his university. Parking at the farthest section he shakes his head and his silky hairs rests over his eyelashes again. He pulls over his round black rim glasses and walks with his head down.
He looks at the schedule and heads for his first class. His favourite subject of all, psychology.
The professor doesn't teach much at first but starts with the basic for a recap. The class was interested in the topic yet he wasn't. He knows far more than what the payed professor knows.
It seems like a whole eternity to Hoseok of a one hour class. He has his next period off. He doesn't have much to do so he sits at the back of the cafeteria it isn't much crowded here. He takes out his black notebook out. He sighs feeling the silence after the nuisance he just faced. But silence is easy to break isn't it?
A group of people in 'bling' enter. A group of bullies or whatever those rich freaking motherfuckers are called Hoseok guessed. He thought they'll take whatever they want and the commition would halt but no. Everything just loves to go against him . Universe always hold grudges especially from Hoseok.
" Eyoo a newbie, you see fellas??" a girl chimed. " Well hello there man." A guy says but after being straightforward ignored by Hoseok he holds his collar. " What's up with this attitude you son of a bitch". Hoseok stays silent and doesn't respond slowly sliding his notebook back into his bag not wanting it to gain anybody's attention.
" Oooo I see the silent kid ignored Mike", one among the five teased the so called 'leader' Mike with a snort. "FREAKING SPEAK UP!". Mike shouts but again, no use. He tugs Hoseok closer just to meet with his intense gaze. His face nonchalant and his mouth shut tight but his eyes spoke harsh than what anybody's mouth can ever say.
It seems as if his rage was spoken by his eyes. And if you trust Mike, he beleive that the rage that Hoseok holds is scarier than the devil himself.
There was something about his eyes that made Mike loose his hold over Hoseok's collar and scurry away after spitting on his face. But Mike swears that he didn't had the guts to turn around and meet with Hoseok ever again. Even him spitting on his face took all of his might to do so to just somehow protect his image.
There was something odd about Hoseok that shook Mike to his core. He noticed a patch of foundation beside his mouth right at the diverging point of his lips as if hiding a deep scar. Funny but as if Hoseok had a slit mouth.
Hoseok leaves to the bathroom taking his bag along. He stands infront of the bathroom mirror while the door remains shut. It always has to be him isn't it. Always the weak one, always the target. Always the one to pay, always the one to be left. Always to apologise, always make up things when it isn't even his mistake. Why him?? Always??
" Son everything is gonna be okay. You're okay. You'll make it out, you have to be alive. Kids are the gift of god my dear, they need to smile always. So you my little kid need to smile, always."
He placed his hand over his chest right where his heart is. "Everything is gonna be okay. I am okay." He mumbled under his breath. "Kids are the gift of god, they need to smile always. So I need to smile, always." He ended his father's words with a smile. A smile reaching his eyes but at the corner of his eyes sat tears.
He blinks feeling his eyes burning but it only made his tears fall. His beautiful smile decorated with tears glistening over his cheeks. His lips quiver as more tears falls across his cheeks. Lips bending into a frown but he holds the smile up with his index finger and thumb of his right hand. His smile is forced by his finger but is still there. Like his dad wanted it to be.
Smile, is the most scariest thing. The most two faced thing to exist. No matter who, how rich, nobody should be judged on the basis of a smile. A smile can hide what the almighty God even can't. It's scary what a smile can hide. Someone must be dead inside but outside you'll see a smiling bubbly person as if is the happiest human to be born.
