Nakita

As I sat down at our normal table, I scoped the cafeteria looking for the familiar head of long black hair. When I saw it coming my way, a smile lit my whole face.

"Hey, Kita!" my best friend, Jacob Yellow Wolf, said as he sat down beside me.

I hooked my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you so much, Jake!"

He chuckled, and replied, "It's only been a few hours Kita. We have second period together, remember?"

"I know, but I get so lonely without my best friend by my side!"

Jacob rolled his eyes, and shook his head with a small smile on his face.

"So how's your day been without me?" I asked him as I sat down and started eating my Indian taco.

"Quiet and peaceful."

I pushed his shoulder playfully, and glared at him. "You are so mean Jacob Yellow Wolf! Sometimes I wonder why we're best friends!"

"I ask myself that all the time!"

I poke my bottom lip out at him, and put on my best sad face. "Really?"

He took one look at my face, and turned the other way. "Don't make that face Kita."

"Jaaaaaaaake!" I whined still making my best pouty face.

He peeked at me from the corner of his eye and I could tell he was starting to give in.

Jacob finally caved and let out an exasperated sigh as he mumbled, "You know I missed you too, Kita."

A smile lit up my face at hearing his defeat, and I squealed in delight. "I know!," I said as I threw my arms around his neck and squeezed him tightly to me.

"Can't...... breathe!!," Jacob choked out as he clawed at my death grip on him.

I let go of him and let out a little laugh. "Uhhhh sorry, Jake. I forgot how strong I can be."

He coughed one last time and rolled his eyes at me.

"Oh, come on Jacob! Don't be mad at me cause I accidentally choked you," I said filling the silence that had fallen upon our table.

Jake fake glared at me and replied, "Whatever Nakita."

I full-on glared at Jacob as I heard my full name come out of his mouth.

"Don't call me that, Yellow Wolf," I hissed out his last name.

Jacob leaned his face over closer to mine and whispered deviously, "And what are you going to do about it, Hummingbird?"

I stared back into his dark eyes as the gears in my head worked quickly to think of a response to his smart remark. As an idea popped into my mind, I let a smirk creep onto my face.

"What are you planning?," Jacob asked as I stood up with my eyes still locked on his stiff sitting figure.

Without saying anything, I walked behind him, and leaned over so my mouth was right by his ear and whispered sweetly, "You're about to find out!" And with that statement, I grabbed the back of his chair and tipped him back.

When Jacob realized what happened, he blinked and noticed that he was sprawled out on the cafeteria floor and everybody around was laughing at him.

His cheeks burned a dark red as he shot up from his position on the floor, and yelled "Nakita!!!!!!!" as he watched my disappearing form run down the hallway.
