Music to play this chapter: Past Memory by Fishcracks.
R.I.P. Lang.
Dreamscaper decided to visit the broken bridge again. Maybe this time there won't be any Toxic Rabbits. There were there. He quickly retreated to the gas room, where he noticed a Catte sitting next to a gas canister, holding his knees up to his face. He could hear the crying from the door. "Hey." Catte looked up. "Are you Ok?" He turned away. "You wouldn't get it."he murmured. Dreamscaper sat down next to him. "Maybe not, but I still want to know." He looked back at him. "Ok..." He took a deep breath. "Do you know about the Gootraxian that you used to get here? Lang?" "Barely." All Dreamscaper knew about Lang was that it was a Gootraxian that used to be in the game, but got removed for some reason(seriously, can someone please tell me why they got removed?). "Well...I...We..." He looked away. "We loved each other." Dreamscaper was shocked. HUH!? I thought they just started appearing! What is going on? But more importantly... "Wow, I..." Dreamscaper was having a hard time trying to figure out what to say. "We did everything together. Hunting, eating, sleeping, whatever we did, we did it together." Catte took a pause to stop himself from bursting into tears. "One day, I made a special surprise for her. But when I got here, I didn't find her. Just a note." He handed Dreamscaper the note.
My dear Catte,
I'm being taken away. I don't know why the reason is, but I just want you to know that I will miss you and that my final wish is that you can carry on without me. I will never forget our moments together, and I hope that you don't forget them too.
Love, Lang.
Dreamscaper was once again speechless. Catte said nothing as well, just him holding back the urge to wail. Finally, Dreamscaper had the power to speak. "Can I see the surprise?" "...Sure. It's not like it matters anymore." Catte reached into his tail, rummaging around. He eventually found what he was looking for and showed it to Dreamscaper. He was blown away. It was a gold ring, and on top of it was a blue crystal, no doubtfully from the caverns. "Is this..!" "Yeah. It is. It was supposed to symbolize our eternal bond. That's how you humans use it, right?" "Yeah..." He was still in awe about the ring. "But...now that she..." Catte couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out sobbing. Dreamscaper almost felt like crying, too. It reminded him of Endra. The fear of losing her bugs him almost every day. And Catte would pretty much sum up what would happen if she was gone. He gave Catte a side hug. "Hey. It's going to be OK. Remember what Lang wrote. As long as you remember the moments you had together, it feels like she's still here." Catte smiled a bit. "That's so chessy." "But it's kinda true. Remember, she said that her final wish is that you try to move on. Clinging to the past is unhealthy." "You're right." "But, I just want to let you, I will do everything in my power to bring Lang back for you." Catte chuckled. "You're joking, right? There's no way you can actually bring her back, right?" "Maybe. But I'll think of something. I always find a way. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here where I am today." "...Thanks." The two then sat there, listening to the music.
May we take a moment of silence for Lang, Feizao, and Fashui while the music plays. I never got the chance to play as any of these characters, but I know that they will be missed by both humans and Gootraxians. Don't worry, Catte, I will find a way to bring her back. I promise...
