Mountain

Rehn and Dill climbed up the treacherously long, narrow mountain peak. The young t-rex was still burned in his head, will he ever see it again? How long would it take to find it? Does it hate me? The questions continued racing through his head, when Dill sqauked, and a massive beast came into view (sabertooth tiger). It was a furred animal, with two large fangs. It was gray in color, and had a whitey gray stripes, and a long black mane running down its head, to it long tail. Its dagger like claws came pouncing down toward him. Just before any pain set in, a slice echoed throughout the tall mountain. This followed with a roaring loud below, and an animal groan and whimper. Rehn looked over to see a woman, standing next to him with a sword, "You coming, or what?"

The sabertooth laid down on the stoned ground, gutted and injured. Blood emerged out of the beasts cut, and the woman kicked the body away with ease. "Venessa" the woman blurted out. "Uh...Rehn", Rehn replied. "Well, if we want survive, we best get moving", said Venessa. Dill chirped, examining the saber's body. Dill got close, when it weakly roared, agitated, and swiped its paw. Dill quickly dodged the swipe and pecked the leg of the tiger, before heading on to catch up with Rehn.

As Dill came up to Rehn and Venessa, he finally noticed how the other two were close together, walking. In a defensive manner, Dill honked at the girl, before Rehn eased Dill. "Shh, calm down, she's not hurting me." "Trust me little birdie, you'd see what it would look like if your friend was in danger", Venessa stated, jokingly. To break the silence, Rehn decided to start a conversation, "So...what are you doing here anyway?" "Just searching for metal", Venessa replied. "Oh look over there, just what I came for", Venessa said. In front of the two laid an acacia tree. Lying underneath the shade of the tree were 3 or 4 goldish rocks, but not like actual gold. Venessa took a metallic pickaxe out of her belt, and she walked over to the rock pile. She began hacking at the metal boulders. Rehn scratched at Dill's head, waiting for Venessa to finish. She looked over and asked Rehn, "Hey, would you like to help me?" "With what?" Rehn replied.

Venessa threw a hatchet on the ground and said, "You see that axe, take it, and chop down this tree over here." "I've never used a hatchet before, and I have no idea how to use one." Venessa turned around, and took the axe "See, take it, put it around your shoulders, and swing as hard as you can, here now try it." Rehn took the axe back, and stepped towards the acacia. He did the steps that Venessa taught him, and made a large dent in the tree. He swung once again, and again, until he completely chopped the tree off its trunk, sending it toppling down. "VENESSA, WATCH OUT!!!!", Rehn exclaimed, as the tree went falling to where Venessa was. She turned around to face the large stem crashing down. Venessa dashed out of the way, leaving all her things behind. The tree finally crashed down. The pure force of the fall caused Venessa's pick to be crushed. "Why you almost killed me!" Venessa exclaimed "I am so sorry Venessa, I di-" Rehn was cut off, as huge, thundering footsteps echoed out. The pounds made the ground vibrate. "The he-" "Oh no, no no no, this is bad, really bad", Venessa ranted. "QUICK, HIDE!!!" Venessa whisper shouted.

Venessa grabbed Rehn's hand and pulled him next to one of the boulders, "What is that!?"
