Lily's POV
The next day after a decent night's sleep. I was sitting with Daisy and Mack "I think Joey’s a real candidate," I said. Coulson had put Daisy in charge of building up a unit of super powered individuals. To help shield when needed.

Mack scoffed "Sure, he’s inhuman. But doesn’t meet my criteria," I side-eyed him "Seriously?" I asked. "He’s a decent guy and you know it. Getting that unit up and running is a priority.," Daisy said. "At the moment it's just me and Lily," she added. "Yeah, but it doesn’t mean it has to be a rush job. Look, Dr. Garner will make his recommendation,"

I rolled my eyes "And it will be the same as always. “Three month’s observation and counseling before reassessment,”. I said sighing. "He’s as much of a buzzkill as you are. And if you haven’t been keeping score our team is down to four musketeers. May and Simmons are gone. Fits might as well be. Bobbie’s on the DL and from what I hear Hunter is planning to leave," Daisy said "Yeah. But not for good. He’s got a score to settle," Mack said.

Bobbi and Hunter ran into the room. My head snapping up. "It’s Fitz!" Hunter said overlapping with Bobbi "Fitz broke into containment," Bobbi said. We looked at each other. Then we rushed to containment. Where the monolith was being kept. Mack and Hunter went in first. "Fitz!" Mack exclaimed. "Get out of there!" Hunter added. Fitz was hitting the monolith. Like that was gonna do anything. Mack pulled him out onto the floor "Are you crazy!?" Mack asked. "Close it! Close it!" Bobbi yelled. Daisy and her slammed the glass closed as the monolith liquefied. "I got it," Daisy said.

Coulson came in clicking his left hand prosthetic into place. "Damnit Fitz!" Coulson exclaimed. "I had to know. I had to know…," Fitz mumbled. "I already lost Simmons to that thing. I cannot afford to lose you too," Coulson said. "You trying to get yourself killed?" I asked. "Sorry. I won’t give up, I can’t give up," Fitz said looking up.

"None of us want to, Fitz. But…," Daisy trailed off. Bobbi crouched down in fort of him, looking him directly in the eyes  "Fitz you tried. Ok. You tried your hardest," she sais. 'Everybody knows that," Daisy added.

"No. I’ve missed something. I’m… I’ve missed something," Fitz said raising a hand in front of his face. He rubbed dhis fingers together. "What is that?" Bobbi asked. "Proof," Fitz whispered.

Fitz leapt up, and ran out of the room to the lab. He ran a couple of tests on the sand he found on his fingers. We were all gathered in Coulson's office listening to his explanation

"Sand. Not just sand, impossible sand," Fitz said. "The monolith’s case is a clean room. There’s nothing in there but that rock, not even dust.," Mack said. "Unless you blast it open with a shotgun and contaminate everything," Hunter mumbled. I jabbed him with my elbow. He looked at me "What?" I shook my head

"That’s not what this is," Bobbi said. "Ok. The sand itself, not unusual. Mostly sick on dioxide particularly like on earth.," Fitz explained his crazy theory."But you’re saying this sand is not from Earth," Coulson asked. "Sir. Carbon dating shows that…," Bobbi said. "It pre-dates the earth by a billion years," Fitz finished.

"So you think the rock is a portal?" I asked. "No. No. I’m proving that it’s a portal. Ok? To another planet. A very old planet. A crack in space time that carried Simmons away, and carried the sand back. Which means..," Fitz added to his explanation "...she’s out there. But it’s been months," Coulson whispered. "Yeah," Fitz nodded. "She could be long gon from wherever this thing dropped her.," Coulson ressoned. "Yeah," Fitz sighed. "She could be dead," Coulson added. "yes," Fitz sighed again. "but we’re gonna find out. Aren’t we?" He asked looking around the room

"Yeah," Bobbi said. "Damn right.," Mack added. "You betcha," I added. "Yeah," Daisy added. "Okay Fitz, what do you need?" Coulson asked stunning back to Fitz

"Uh. Well more historical data. People have studied this thing for centuries. I need an expert on quantum mechanics and Einstein-Rosen bridge theory. And sandwich would be nice," I smiled ta the last one. I raised my hand "I'll take care of the sandwich," I said with a smile. Fitz looked at me and smiled great fully.  Coulson nodded at me. "I might have an idea, about the other thing. You two stay with our new inhuman guest. Be here for Dr, Garner’s assessment. Building that team is still the priority," Coulson said gesturing to Mack, and Daisy "what did I say?" Daisy whispers to Mack.

"Bobbi," Coulson stood in front of her "I’m on this with Fitz," Bobbi cut him off. "Yeah, haven’t you been on this with Fitz the whole time? Hiding his trip to Morocco. Covering for him on a constant basis?" Coulson siad snidely. "Have I?" She raised and eyebrow and walked away.

We were definitely going on a mission of some sort soon. So I put on my suit on. I found Hunter with a duffel slung over his shoulder. "Where you headed hotshot?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest and leaning against the doorframe. He looked up at me. "To kill a backstabbing son of a b- Git," I laughed at his fumble. "I know what son of a bitch means," I said shaking my head at him. "Just because I'm 14 doesn't mean I'm clueless," I added walking with him down the hall.

Where Bobbi came up beside him. "Coulson would be pissed if he knew what you had planned," Bobbi told him. "Part of our agreement. He won't sweat the details and I won't share them," Hunter replied. "You really think Ward is back with HYDRA?' I asked. Hunter just looked at me. Like really. "Damn I want to go after him with you," Bobbi said. "You're still on the mend," Hunter said. Plus you've been undercover at HYDRA and that face makes an impression. The rest of you makes a bloody statement," Hunter said. "You like me stuck in the lab," I opened the door to the hanger bay.

"Top Bloody right. You're missing half a lung because you took a bullet that Ward intended for me. Nearly bled out in my arms. If you being in the lab means I never have to see something like that again I'm all for it," We approached the bus as the team so fondly calls it.

Coulson came down the ramp "Bobbi you want to fly?," Coulson asked. "Desperately," Bobbi replied. "Good," He replied. "Here's our destination," I looked at the tablet he handed Bobbi "Who's Professor Randolph?" I asked. Beating Bobbi to it."This monolith has been studied for centuries? Well, Randolph has actually been on the planet for those centuries. And he's traveled through space in a porta. And he's also an alien. So he's got a lot going for him," Coulson explained. I shrugged "Dude sounds legit," I said. Coulson walked away. Bobbi and Hunter turned to each other and kissed. I made a gagging sound behind them. They broke apart and glared at me. I just grinned day them. "Don't die out there," Bobbi siad. "I second that," I said. "And Hunter, Make sure he does," Coulson said. Hunter nodded.
