Dolores and Antonio were the only ones to ever notice her absence. Occasionally Mirabel would disappear.

Never for that long. Maybe 15 minutes to an hour. But for that time it was like she stopped existing. Dolores wouldn't be able to hear, no words, no breathing, nothing.

Antonio wouldn't be able to find her anywhere and even Castia wouldn't be able to help find her. Whenever she did turn back up she would say she was hanging out with a friend and not to worry.

Well, this was another day that Mirabel had disappeared. But this was also the day that they finally noticed the door that didn't belong.

Camilo had seen it first. He was walking by when he passed a door and paused. That place should have been empty. It's where Antonio's door should be in a few weeks. But instead a door was there, much like every other Madrigals door glowing with a name and image. In this case it was the name Casandra and had an image of a teenage girl holding an hourglass in her right hand.

The shapeshifter blinked twice before yelling loudly, "Mami! Papi!"

....

A little while later all the Madrigal were looking in shock at the door.

"Mama?" Julieta asked, confused as she looked at her mother.

Abuela had no answers. This was something that had never happened before.

"Mami?" Antonio asked softly as he looked around, "Where's Maribel?"

That caused everyone to look around concerned.

"Dolores?" Agustin asked, concerned that his daughter was missing.

The 2nd oldest grandchild squeaked, "I can't hear her at all in the Encanto."

All eyes narrowed on the slightly open door. Luisa, being a concerned big sister, ripped open the door and rushed inside.

"Luisa!" Abuela scolded as everyone followed, concerned and curious about this room.

As they entered everyone they gaped as they scanned the deep blue walls that seemed to go one forever with stars in them. There was a large bed to the side along with a desk, several bookshelves, dresser, and wardrobe all rather ancient looking.

But along the empty looking void walls there were clocks. Not one or two but hundreds and all different times and styles. Hourglass, sundials, grandfather style, and never seen before. All seemingly stopped on a different time and date.

But what confused everyone though as they looked around was another door on the other side of the room. One identical to the one behind them. What? No room in Castia had 2 doors.

As they stared they heard a slam and saw Antonio had closed the door out of habit of what they had told him about closing doors and they heard a lock and saw that a clock was created on the wall.

"Tell me that didn't lock!" Pepa cried as a cloud appeared above her head.

Camilo tried to open the door and gave a weak smile, "Sorry, Mami. It is."

Pepa made a noise as Felix and Agustin tried to open it but it didn't budge. As they struggled with the door Luisa wandered over to check on the other door and opened it to see....Castia?

"What? Abuela!" Luisa called back and soon the rest of the family was walking over and making faces.

"I don't understand this at all!" Isabela whined as they all walked out into the hall and glanced around.

"Hey!"

They all jumped as they saw a woman was running across the bottom floor and saw a woman dressed in an outfit that honestly looked a lot like what Pepa was wearing.
