Oikawa screeched in response to Iwaizumi's yell, the two making horrible eye contact for a fraction of a second, before Iwaizumi brazenly pointed at Oikawa and said.
"What the ever-loving fuck is.. is wrong with you."
Oikawa gasped, horribly offended as he crossed his arms protectively over his chest and his eyes filled with angry tears.
"That's so mean Iwa-chan! especially after you chatted me up with your niece!"
It was meant to sound like a joke, but Oikawa hated the way his voice came out weak and squeaky. Iwaizumi didn't seem to pick up on it.
"Wha- what?! Coming onto you? You were flirting with me! I didn't ask you to! Stop with that nickname too. And.. and what the fuck is happening to your body!? You're made of sand."
Oikawa did look a bit genuinely hurt at that.
"Oh well sorry I didn't understand your fucking eminence. And don't say that it's rude!"
He curled into himself a bit more while Iwaizumi grew steadily more and more shocked.
"Could someone explain what the actual fuck is going on?!"
Daichi tried to sit up and comfort Oikawa, but Suga pulled him back down and slowly angled them away from the upset teacher, who looked ready to throw Iwaizumi out. Bokuto in turn tried to get up but Akaashi growled at him, eyes still closed even with the commotion. So, both Kenma and Kuroo had to intervene.
"Woah woah Iwa bro, let's all just clam down a little yeah? Stop yelling at Oikawa. He didn't do anything. In fact, he saved Daichi's life last night. You need to calm down and give him an apology."
Oikawa sunk down into the ground a little, Kenma patting his head as Oikawa sniffled into his shoulder.
"There there Tooru-kun. he didn't mean it. You look very pretty today and are under a lot of stress. There's nothing wrong with being upset when someone is so rude."
With that last part, he shot a frazzled Iwaizumi a dirty look, ears pinned back against his head.
Iwa let out a garbled sound, Kuroo guiding him over to the love-seat, Kenma doing the same until both the teacher and officer were standing in-front of each other, Oikawa with his arms crossed, his sands settling and his body solid. Suga didn't like seeing him so self conscious.
Iwaizumi sighed and looked Oikawa in the eye, sobering up as he heard a little sniffle. Oikawa had his head turned, so Iwaizumi cleared his throat. Oikawa looked at him through his hair, still turned partially away.
"Oikawa, I'm uh..." he looked to Kuroo for support, who was back against the wall with Kenma. He managed to give him a thumbs up while holding a bristling Kenma back, giving him an encouraging nod.
"Right. Oikawa, I am very sorry. I was overwhelmed. And I didn't mean what I said. You don't look weird or anything um, in fact you actually look really cool. So...yeah."
Bokuto clapped slowly as Iwaizumi steadily got redder.
"Good one," he nodded sagely. Akaashi wacked him across the chest.
"Shh. I wanna watch."
Oikawa abruptly put his arms down by his sides and faced Iwaizumi head on.
"Thank you, Iwa-chan. I... accept. Your apology, that is. For now. As punishment I will refer to you as nothing but Iwa-chan for the rest of your miserable little life. And you aren't allowed to rush in here unprompted anymore, especially if you don't want to learn things you shouldn't! And,"
He paused, looking down at his feet.
Suga started coughing uncontrollably when he figured it out.
Oikawa was bashful.
Oh my God.
"...I'm sorry for hitting on you. It was unprofessional and um, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything. I deserved that bit."
His voice was very quiet, and everyone watched with rapt attention.
Iwaizumi ran a hand through his hair and sighed, before grabbing Oikawa's arm and yanking him forward into a hug.
Oikawa stiffened before relaxing, and Iwaizumi was trying his hardest to ignore the silky feeling of the sand underneath his hands, the teacher gaining solidity so he could hold on, letting out a couple more sniffles.
"Aww," cooed Bokuto and Suga, both grinning as they watched.
At this both Oikawa and iwaizumi sprung apart, bright red. Or Oikawa would've been, but when he was embarrassed his skin tended to glow instead, lighting him up like a glowstick.
"Okay wrap it up, we've got some explaining to do."
Iwaizumi was herded to the loveseat while Oikawa re-crossed his arms.
"This doesn't mean I like you."
Iwaizumi sighed.
"Yeah, I know."
Feeling recovered, Oikawa took a deep breath.
"Now finally, lets begin."
