Many months had passed since the incident with Arkansas and the Mirror Sea. Some ships were still apprehensive about him being a META, but life in the port continued. As punishment for the incident, Arkansas was indefinitely grounded and forced to take a position as an instructor at the Azur Lane academy.

His walking has slowly gotten better, but his wisdom cube's integrity continues to fall. This concerns many of his friends. Before that, though, Arkansas had his encounter with Eugen following him losing his leg. That was an incident in itself.

Eugen: Arkansas... why did you do that? Did you know how much it hurt me when I heard what you did?

Arkansas stays quiet, the only obvious feeling of regret from him is his fox ears cowering back.

Arkansas: I'm... I'm sorry, but I had to.

Eugen: What do you mean had to, weren't you concerned with your health, or how much you worried everyone?

Arkansas: I... I wasn't. I'm sorry for that.

Eugen: Hmmph, you owe me a date.

Arkansas: Taking advantage, huh?

Eugen: You know what I mean.

Arkansas: Fine, I'll pick you up 7PM tomorrow after my class and take you to that fancy restaurant that New Jersey opened up.

Arkansas was busy filling out requisition forms for his gunnery class. For all that he did, he wasn't really sure why Yorktown didn't have a more strict punishment. Yeah, he was grounded but, he didn't expect just being forced to be an instructor.

February 12th, 19XX

Arkansas woke up at 4 AM, rising out of his bed, he started getting dressed and attached his leg. Arkansas was gathering up paperwork and was preparing to do morning PT along with heading to the academy. This was the first time in awhile he was allowed to use his rigging to teach the class about advanced gunnery, rangefinding, and target practice.

Reaching the class, he did role call and all the younger destroyers and cruisers were present. He instructed them for awhile around the math around rangefinding.

Arkansas: Alright, you have guns which can shoot, however, due to the effects of air resistance and gravity, your shells will hit the water first if you don't raise the barrels to adjust for those. Let's take a look first at destroyers. Now, your range on your guns are the lowest due to your calibers, so you excel at close range fighting.
