Implacable was reading the report given to her by Warspite along with orders regarding Arkansas. She wondered why he would betray Azur Lane and what his motives were, even though he became a Siren, his ship was observed fighting off Sirens. And now, he was heading here to the Basilicas. The Orthodoxy was dispatching Richelieu along with a fleet to help the stationed forces try to fight off Arkansas. They did not want him accessing the Mirror Sea and contacting the Horsemen.

Hero: How much exp do you think I'd get from defeating Arkansas?

Scylla: Quite a bit I'd imagine, speaking of which, Lady Implacable, have your scout planes spotted him yet?

Implacable: No, nothing. Argus?

Argus: Nothing on this end. Royal Oak, anything on your end?

Royal Oak: No, why am I so unlucky....

Argus: Don't be like that. You're still very important to us.

The ships continue talking until they spot a large Orthodoxy fleet approaching, exchanging greetings, they talk to Richelieu and Jean Bart. They go over Arkansas and possible motivations of why he would go to the basilicas. One idea that came to mind was Arkansas was acting under orders of the SIrens, and they wanted to recapture the facilities. That however was dismissed after seeing Arkansas' actions against any Siren ships coming in his way.

Implacable: What are his motivations...

Richelieu: I wish I knew. He seemed like such a happy person at Cleveland's wedding. What could've cause him to lash out like this...

Jean Bart: It doesn't matter. We got to stop him from getting to the Mirror Sea specifically.

Implacable: Agreed, how is our defensive lines?

Richelieu: Steady. Yet our recon shows no sign of his ship making an approach. He should've been here by now. Wait...

Implacable: Something wrong?

Richelieu: Reports said that his ship started evolving into a Siren ship shortly after leaving the base... could, could he evolve himself to go underwater?

The ships did not consider this option. They hadn't considered the very simple fact that Arkansas could just bypass the fighting by simply avoiding them. The ship girls hurried towards the Mirror Sea.

Arkansas was making his approach towards the islands. He laughed at himself quite a bit, having sent that detachable decoy into the Mirror Sea before them. Hopefully it's signal would keep the ship girls distracted. Now, only one thing stood before him, the Orthodoxy production fleet. It had no crew and was little more than robots following orders. He opened fire on their fleet.

The engagement was short lived, without the presence of the shipgirls, they all quickly feel. He continued forward at steady speeds and jumped off his ship onto the island, looking, he saw 4 basilicas.
