Next morning, Mullai sat in the library waiting for Kathir. When he didn't turn up for half hour, she started looking for him. She looked for him in cafeteria, classrooms both in first and second floor but couldn't find him anywhere.
When she finally gave up and started walking towards her class, she noticed him talking to Alphonse sir. She stood few feet away from them, trying to hear their conversation. Alphonse sir broke off in mid conversation, his cold black eyes narrowing and fixing upon Mullai's face.
Mullai walked closer to them when he said
"I don't see why both of you are hell bend to do project together. Unless you want to repeat another year in college, I ask you to mend your ways and start working on the project topic. Its final", he warned in a stern tone.
"Sure sir", Kathir nodded politely and both Kathir and Alphonse sir walked away.
Mary who was noticing the conversation, came towards Mullai.
"Thirumba HOD kita pesaniya? Apadi enna than prachanai Kathir kuda project panradhula?", she asked irritated.
Mullai looking extremely agitated as she glanced over their shoulders, to make sure Kathir was away from their ear shot and they could not be overheard. She didn't want to risk it twice.
"Andha Kathir than pesi irukan pola. Avan kita oru idea kudukalamnu patha, inum prachanaiya peruse panna pakaran. Enaku vara kadupuku...", she stomped her foot in frustration.
"Modhala poi nee avana insult panadhuku sorry kelu. Aparam project pathi pesalam", Mary suggested earning a scowl look from Mullai.
"Avan enna insult panadhuku elam first avan sorry kekatum", she said and stormed to her class. She walked directly to Kathir's desk and whisper yelled not wanting to create another scene.
"En morning library ku varala?"
He raised his head to look at her. Before he could answer, Mullai spoke
"Bhanumathi. Oru 2 mins avan kita pesikalama?", she asked and Bhanu immediately moved further into the desk giving space for Mullai to sit down.
"Permission elam edhuku? Okaru. Aparam Yenna Bhanu nu kupta podhum", Bhanu smiled politely. Her friendly gesture calmed down Mullai a bit.
"Elar mudi pesa venamnu than, Library vara sonean. Aana nee varala", Mullai accused.
"Kalaila velai irunduchu", he replied in a flat tone.
"Kalaila college varadhuku munadi apadi enna velai?"
This irritated Kathir but tried his best not to snap at her and kept quiet.
"Naan idhukaga sikiram alarm vechu ezhundu vandhean. Unnai kanomnu college fulla thedinean. Oru explanation illa, oru sorry illa. Nee enna da na HOD kita pesara. Aparam onumey nadakudhu mathiri class ku vandhu okarara ."
"Acho pavam. Enala un beauty sleep kettu poi irundha SORRY", he quoted his hands in air while he said sorry. "Aana, unna mathiri naan veti illa. Ezhundhu make up matum potutu college vara", he added sarcastically.
"Rendu perum nirutharengala? Edhuku sandai podarenganu kuda enaku puriyala. Ipadiyey pesitu irundha yepadi project panuvenga rendu perum?", Bhanu asked worriedly looking at seething Mullai. Bhanu passed her water bottle to Mullai, seeing her red in anger.
Mullai gulped some in, before she talked "See Kathir. You hate me. I get that. So, I don't want to waste my time trying to talk to you anymore. 5 mins amaidhiya irundha, Naan solla vandhadha solitu poidarean."
