The Maple Leaf by KevinDPhillips Follows the main Character William held in captivity until "One day a maple leaf, carried by the wind, enters his room through a small window - setting off a chain of events that give him the will to attempt a daring escape." The words of the author Himself gave a great description of what to look forward to without revealing the twist and turns to come.
The maple leaf had three critical points for me as a reader, the authors note, the first chapter and the final chapter. The very beginning the writer made a connection with his readers where I felt he made the readers want to be invested in what he had to offer, he shared his inspirations and dreams in a way that resonated with his audience and made him relatable. Then the first official chapter opened with great imagery that created an unmistakable setting. He gave a focus, William and our Maple leaf, he turned an object into a clear sign of hope.
Now the finale of The Maple Leaf ended exactly how it was meant to or maybe it's really the start of something new and there's only one true way to find out, be "swept" by the tale of The Maple Leaf
