53. BABY's FIRST KICK

As the lights went on Shaurya was bewildered to see the decorations anokhi had done in their room for his birthday. Pictures from his early childhood with his parents, badi maa, bade papa and other family members hung across their tree wall picturing a family tree. Soon, all the family members came into the room and started singing the birthday song loudly for shaurya.

Before shaurya could speak anything, A huge Birthday cake was brought in on which "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAURYA" was written in bold letters.

SHAURYA'S POV

To say that I felt overwhelmed would be an understatement !! I felt speechless !! I felt numb...Never in my wildest dreams I imagined a birthday celebration like this. It all seemed to be good to be true. My mom and dad on one side. My wife on the other. I felt complete. I could not hold back my tears. It felt as if someone had returned me my childhood.

ANOKHI'S POV

I know what he must be feeling right now. Being a person who has never celebrated his birthday with his parents together, this feeling would be out of the world. It shows on his face how much happy he is seeing the surprise. Those moist eyes and smile flashing his dimples are the reason why I wanted to surprise him and I feel so happy that he is happy

(God took extra time in setting up Shakhi for each other !! The way they light up each other's world...I mean they look sooo dreamyyyy..uuufff )

"Thank you everyone!! Thank you so so so very much for this surprise....maine kabhi nahi socha tha ki itna accha surprise mujhe milega. Yeh tree pe meri bachpan ki photos, meri favorite flavor ki cake...yeh sab bilkul sapne jaisa hai mere liye.." Shaurya said emotionally

"beta thankyou hame nahi, anokhi ko bolo..yeh sab usi ka idea tha tumhe special feel karane ke liye" aastha confessed.

Shaurya looked at his wifey and their eyes met. No words shared. It was as if their eyes were doing the talk. He looked at her as if his whole world resided in her and she in return gave him all the love she had through her eyes.

It was only when all the family members started coughing teasingly that brought their attention back.

"shaurya beta romance baad mein bhi ho sakta hai...abhi jaldi se cake cut karo! Hum sab ko bohat bhuk lagi hai" shaan said teasingly

"jii dad," Shaurya said breaking eye contact with anokhi

As he cut the cake, everyone once again sang his birthday song. After 25 long years, he fed his mother the first bite of the cake. As he forwarded his hand toward her, Aastha could see the tears in his eyes which could fall down any moment. She felt her eyes welling up because of the guilt of the mistake she had committed years back. She controlled herself and smiled at him and said something that Shaurya had craved all these years

"JANAMDIN KI BOHAT BOHAT SHUMKAMNAYE MERE PYARE LADOO"

That was it. Shaurya couldn't control it anymore. He hugged Aastha tightly and started crying like a baby.

"yeh sunne ke liye aapne mujhe kitne saal wait karvaya maa"

"main janti hu beta, ho sake toh mujhe maaf kar dena"

"I love you maa"

"I love you too ladoo"

Everyone had tears in their eyes seeing the mother-son emotional moment. Kanchan decided to ease the moment.

"Arey shaurya bhaiya, yeh kya baat huyi..hum sab bhi wait kar rhe hai cake khane ka..hame bhi khilaye"

Aastha and shaurya broke the hug...and she wiped off the tears from his face. He smiled at her
