Nadia grumbled as she squinted her eyes at the bright light of natural daylight. She wanted to do anything else but she knew better so, begrudgingly, she got out of bed and made her way over to her bathroom.
Closing the door, she found that she had accidentally slept in the same clothes as yesterday, not only that but she left her braid in. With a sigh, she stripped herself of her clothes and got in the shower, quickly washing her hair and body before getting out and wrapping a towel around her body.
She exited the bathroom and swiftly made it over to her walk-in closet where she picked out her outfit for the day. Once she had gotten what she needed, she went back into her bathroom to get ready.
It wasn't anything fancy, a white tank top with blue flare jeans, white trainers and an oversized black bomber jacket. Pairing it with a pair of black shades which she had situated on top of her head, she walked out of the bathroom. She looked at herself in her full-body mirror before noticing that her hair was still down. Quickly pulling it into a braid, she walked over to where Symph was munching on salted nuts and grabbed a beige tote bag from beside the sofa.
"C'mon Symph, I'll buy you some more nuts later but we gotta go ask my mother something," Nadia told the kwami, opening the left side of her jacket so Symph could hide in one of the many inside pockets.

"Mother!" Nadia called as she ran down the stairs as fast as she could.
"Nadia? What made you so energetic at eight in the morning?" Her mother questioned.
"I want to go to school," Nadia announced as she caught her breath.
"School? Nadia, you hate your schoolwork here what about going to a building full of pushy people would change that?" Her mother raised a brow at her daughter.
"I want to make friends mother! Maybe if I had someone apart from Susan and Tasha to talk to I'd like it more!" Nadia argued. "Please, mother? I promise I'll do my best!"
"Promise me you won't put friends in front of your career." Her mother replied, turning fully towards her daughter.
"I promise!"
With a sigh, Nadia's mother looked at the time on the clock above the stairs and then at her watch. "Schools normally start at eight, forty-five. You have 20 minutes to get to school. I'll call Susan to drop you off."
"Thank you, mother!" Nadia squealed as she ran towards the door and left the house, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for Susan to show up so they could leave.
"Miss, let's go," Susan told her as she walked down the steps of the building and towards the limo parked to the right of the stairs.
Nadia quickly walked over to the car and climbed into the back before putting her seat belt on and waiting for Susan to begin driving.

As Susan neared the school, Nadia's nerves finally set it. She had been too excited about actually going to school instead of about what people will think. So as Susan parked the car, Nadia took a breath and took the sunglasses from her head and put them on her face before exiting the vehicle.
