A Fresh Start

Enola ' s POV

If it was nothing else it was a fresh start. Living with Sherlock I found myself moving around a lot . I mean a lot . But this time he promised I could stay her until graduation.

2 whole years.

A long time to stay at one school.

Hopefully I have time to make at least one friend. Usually I say I don ' t want friends but really I've just never tried.

This time it would be different.

I know you are probably thinking " that ' ok be easy , " but the truth is I've never had a friend before.

Never.

Ever.

No not because I'm boring or anything ..... well I mean I've never really thought about that before .

Perhaps I'm boring.

But.

All the same maybe I'm not ?

Well that's not for me to decide . Is it? Could I become less boring? More interesting?

Well the only thing interesting about me is the fact my brother is Sherlock Holmes. I'm just plain old Enola Holmes.

Ok ... that makes two things I want to accomplish at the school ( apart from getting an education ).

I smiled . Education . I found myself quoting Nelson Mandela ,

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world .

Hmmm ......

Well if I want a perfect education I'll have to work. Don't worry I'm exceptionally hardworking.

I think???

No. I am hardworking and smart .

I take out my gold embossed notebook. The royal blue fabric covered cover has been decorated with a floral pattern.

My mother gave it to me . She moved to France for work 3 years ago . She works with a group fighting for rights for the vulnerable .

I pulled out the matching pen and began to write.

What I want to achieve in my new school.

1. Make a friend ( pathetic huh? )

2. Find out how to be less boring .

3. Complete my education ( in this school , NO MORE MOVING )

I slammed the book shut . Satisfied with my list.

I turned my thoughts to something not entirely different .

It was a boarding school!

I was practically like a character in a book!

Not the main character. More like the new girl the author only adds when the characters are nearly finished there mission. You know when the author realised that they have killed off too many characters and need to add another to keep the story going.

At least it was a fresh start.
