The Dating Scene

Enola s POV

After being introduced to Mary and Marlene , the five of us made our way to breakfast .

Flo had left much earlier to do who knows what . Cecily and Mary were leading the way while having having a very avid conversation about Harry Styles. That meant by chance me and Marlene were left at the back of the group .

" So , meet anyone else while here? " she asked, trying to make polite conversation. I usually don't engage in small talk but I didn't want to fall out with my roommate yet.

" No,not yet, perhaps you could introduce me to some? "

" Sure , I can introduce you to my friend, Max , we play soccer together, he's always trying to get me to join theatre , though . "

" I'd like that very much. "

" Yeah sure if I see him we can go over and talk to him and his friends. "

" Sure that sounds nice , yeah I'd like that. "

" Hmm... sounds like someone wants some romance! "

" What! I just asked you to introduce me to some people I never asked for romance! "

Marlene started laughing I tried desperately not to look annoyed and it seemed to fool her.

" Well I might as well update you on the dating scene. "

" What do you know about the dating seen? "

" Mary's my bestie , pretty self explaining. "

" I guess. "

" Well , firstly there's the staple couple Anne and Gilbert . Then, there's a rumour that Cecily and Flo are dating , but they haven't confirmed it but all the same they haven't denied it. Max keeps teasing me about how he snogged some guy this summer. Then there's Jay who's dating his best friend, Kai ' s sister Nya. Then there's Kai who's dating Skylar. Then there's Zach , he's not dating anyone but he's super sweet. And last but certainly not least there's James Tewksbury, he's super dreamy but Mary has had the biggest crush on him, so he's out of bounds. "

I nodded , really I tried to take it all in but my brain couldn't process it. In all the other schools I went to I didn't have to deal with this ( plus side of having no friends ).I

" Well are you with anyone? "

" No , " she said absentmindly .

I could tell ( without much experience) that there was someone she wanted to be with.

" Come on tell me. "

" Well  I do have a little crush. "

" On who??? "

" Dorcas Meadows. "

" Details? "

" She's in our year , friends with Carmen SanDiego and Zach's  sister , Ivy. I sit beside her in maths . She's soo gorgeous! "

" Wow , someone's in love , " I joked.

She rolled her eyes.

" I bet by the end of the week you'll be head over heals for some boy or girl. "

I snorted . That could never happen.

Tewkesbury ' s POV

Why?

Why did we have to come back a week before classes started?

I really shouldn't complain because the week went by pretty quickly.

Really quickly.

Probably because it was so good to have company again. I'm not complaining about my family but they are pretty boring.

I was quietly reading when Max dramatically ran in. It wouldn't be quiet for long .

His hand clung onto his chest panting.

He wouldn't be this tired unless he had ran a long way because he did play football.

Once he had called down he stood up properly, his arms shot out dramatically.

" Its me cupid! " he exclaimed. Really most of the time I had no idea what he meant .

" Marlene, just said that THE NEW GIRL wants to meet us! "

Oh.

Oh.

I mean she was really pretty so it wouldn't kill me to get to know her.

" When? " I asked.

" No clue, they'll probably just come over to us at lunch someday."

Sounds good to me.

Yes, that is a weird mix of characters but they probably won't be included much... If everything go to ( the non-existent) plan. So don't go getting worried about remembering the characters because I'll probably forget about half ( most) of them.
