The rain lashed against the windows as a group of giggling blonde girls gathered around the mic. The the low budget lighting was shining on them to the point where it slightly blinded them. I looked at them while they were fixing their hair and adjusting their clothes like they were standing in front of a screaming crowd on Hollywood Bowl. Instead, there was a bunch of friend groups sitting in front of them who seemed pretty occupied with their own conversations. The blondes looked over at our newly hired employee to hit the start button to play their karaoke song. Wannabe by the Spice Girls starts blasting over the speakers and I allowed myself to roll my eyes. My mom was rushing from table to table and it looked like the restaurant was fully packed tonight. She was thrilled that we finally had enough money to hire an employee. She had made it pretty clear that if I wanted to spend my Friday nights doing something else, I was more than welcome to do so. However, I enjoyed being here. I took orders, served food, cleaned tables and talked to the customers like I always do, but tonight my head were somewhere completely else. The kiss in the back of the taxi had been replaying in my head for the last six days and there was nothing I wanted to do more than to relive that exact moment. It was perfect, that whole night with Daniel was the definition of perfect. Felt like a god damn fairytale. My phone vibrated and my heart started raising by just looking at his name popping up in my phone.

Done with practice, ready for quali tomorrow. Have fun today [Y/N], I miss you

oh my, he looked so good. Daniel was in Zandvoort for race weekend and I missed him like crazy. Seems like he was missing me as well. I tried holding back all of these feelings but it was much harder than I thought. I knew it was dangerous to fall fast for a guy, I had made that mistake before. I need to hold back. Hannah was the first person I called once the date was over. She had been screaming so loud that I could hear Jimmy asking her to keep it down on the other side of the line. Both Hannah and Jimmy had been so happy for me. Gia on the other hand, not so thrilled. I told her a couple of days later and she freaked out over the fact that it took him so long to text me. I don't find three days alarming, still Gia thought so. He has a busy life, I get it. If you ask me, he had probably been on another date already. He is a world famous formula 1 driver, which makes it fairly unlikely that he sticks to one girl at a time. More specifically, one girl from Fort Collins who study teaching and waits tables.

"Could you take out the trash, honey?" my mom kissed my cheek on her way over to another table. I had completely zoned out and It wasn't the first time. I replied to Daniel's text and went to take out the trash.

After a couple of rainy days in Fort Collins, the sun had finally made an appearance. The celestial fireball in the sky made the river glittery with golden sparkles. I walked out on my terrace and was met by a warm breeze. Small birds cut across the air and I could tell that this would be a wonderful day. The door bell rang and I ran over to the door in my white mini skirt with a white polo shirt.
