song: sold out of love.
—————
As the door opens, the guard from downstairs enters the room. You walk over to him, "hey." Rafe tries to stop you but you ignore him. "I need to talk to mr Singh." You tell the guard, "I have something to tell him. It's urgent." the guard looks at you for a second before simply saying, "yes." Taking you downstairs to Singhs office.
You stand in front of Singh as he sighs, "I lied." You tell him, "I know about the diary. I don't have the original, but i can get you a copy." You tell him, he smirks slightly at this. "I'm relieved to hear you say that, you know."
"But i need to get it alone." You tell him. "But how would I know that you'd come back?" He questions, "You know, I need some collateral."
"Rafe's here." You inform him, making him scoff. "keep him." You tell Singh, making him laugh lightly
"You know, I built this fortune myself, you know, from nothing. From absolutely nothing. Do you know how that happened Miss Routledge? hmm? I can assure you it was not by being a fool. Don't waste my time." He threatens, "The diary holds the key to the ultimate conquest, and that is my destiny. So you're gonna tell me where it is or i'm gonna—" he's interrupted by his phone buzzing.
He sighs heavily moving to where his phone is, laughing, "Amazing. A text from our friend jimmy Portis from beyond the grave apparently. It seems mr portis has captured your friends." He says showing you the photo of John B and Sarah.
You felt relieved knowing that the pogues knew where you were and were trying to help you but your stomach sank as Singh called one of his guards and instructed them to find them.
"Mr Singh, please. Please don't hurt my friends." The guard from earlier pulls you up stairs as you try to fight against him. "That depends Miss Routledge... we'll continue our chat later. I look forward to it, you know."
The guard pushes you back into the room you and Rafe had shared, locking the door once more. You sit on the edge of the bed, holding your head in your hands. Singh's men were after the pogues and you couldn't do anything about it— you couldn't even warn them.
"What happened?" Rafe asks concerned as he looks at your stressed state. He sighs in frustration, "You're gonna have to talk to me at some point. Okay?" He blankly says
"Do i need to remind you again of everything you've done?" You ask him, "You killed Peterkin. Do you remember that? And everything you've put Sarah through." You tell him sadly.
"Peterkin, I was protecting my father. Okay?" Rafe says moving closer towards you, "I did what I had to do, so... don't." He rants moving over to the chair in the corner of the room.
